I didn't know anyone was talking about him resigning from thte senate. Everything I have heard was about him resigning as Senate Majority Leader, but remaining as a Senator from Mississippi.

That is what everyone wants him to do .. but reality is there is a REALLY good chance Lott will resign from the Senate

If he is force to step down as ML over this he will be humilated .. he will never live it down if he stays in the Senate

That is what the big uproar on FR is all about .. Everyone agrees that Lott is an idiot .. a failure as a ML and thinks that he should go .. but many don't don't he to go over this issue .. If the Rats win this they will come after us even more .. plus is puts the control in jeopardy AGAIN ..

This is such a huge mess and I'm not sure how it will play out .. but either way .. IMO Lott is toast

Never happen. People like Lott look forward to their retirement from politics as time to get on some corporate boards, consult or lobby, get paid for speaking. Because they have to maintain two homes, they spend every penny they make while in office. He has a very nice pension, but that won't make him rich.

If he has a temper tantrum and quits, costing the pubbies control of the Senate, all that will disapear. He will just be a despised middle class retiree.

He will hold on for the rest of his term, and help whatever Republican runs for his seat when he retires, because that is where the money is.
