#37...Ohhhh, would that I could.

I just hope I haven't lost it.....

..I haven't made it in years....but this year, I feel nostalgic for her old recipe.

It has candied orange slices in it......you know, the sugary candy gummy things :)))
...and dates, raisins, pecans, brown sugar....and the consistency is just like fruit cake.

She use to let me help......(usually just coating the fruit with flour)....

..and it took as long to make as a regular fruitcake,....but the taste is yummy beyond belief!!!

It's also glazed with a mixture of orange juice & brown sugar to soak in.

#31....LOL, that's why I originally went to nursing school.....I thought I WAS Florence Nightingale....

..unti l I figured out there was more to it than propping pillows, and soothing words.

Bedpans!!!....Giving shots!!!!....Yukky stuff!!!....

I became a firm believer that nurses are BORN not made!!

They didn't tell me all this when I was a 15 yr.old Candystriper in my local hospital.

I loved the little uniform, and everyone smiled at me, and it was fun bringing magazines & flowers.

Jonathan Foreman of the New York Post talking on "Fox and Friends". Apparently he has a column today about the FRENCH, in which he actually calls them "cheese-eating surrender monkeys." LOL!

By the way, that term first was used by the Scottish groundskeeper on "Homer Simpson," according to Foreman.

I am going to look for that column!

lysie, I will try and find out about that bill...don't know anything about it right now.

I thought I wanted to be a nurse, too. My Mom said it probably wouldn't work out too well since I'd probably be crying all the time. You are right. Nurses are BORN!
