In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
moribund \MOR-ih-bund\, adjective:
moribundity; noun
moribundly; adverb
- In a dying state; dying; at the point of death.
- Becoming obsolete or inactive.
- not growing or changing; without force or vitality
If talking about books -- a subject often more personal than politics and more arguable than religion -- can be bruising, it can for the same reasons be thrilling. Yet serious literary conversation as an avocation, as an impromptu congress of amateurs, has been moribund for half a century.
--Brian Hall, "The Group," New York Times, June 6, 1999
Etymology: Latin moribundus, from mori to die. Date: circa 1721
TOPICS: Education; Humor; Word For The Day
KEYWORDS: 102902; students; tuesday; wordfortheday

Good morning Vast. Are you high and dry?

I don't understand pedophiles, either. Being averse to children, I don't understand how the perverts can stand to be near the little buggers long enough to molest them.

There was a ton up here too! It took me an hour and half to get home last night, and I left at 6pm! Sheeesh.
Right now I-45 feeders are flooded and I can't get to the interstate to get to work. I really have things to do today that require I not be home. UGGGGGGGGGGGG
Hope you and yours were ok last night, did y'all get water in the house?

The U.S. Senate has morphed into a
moribund mass of miscreants and maggot-munchers, thanks largely to misguided malcontent members such as these:

A couple pieces of newspaper, some firelogs, and 1991's tax returns ought to make a nice cozy fire tonight.
Gotta put on "24" on Fox as well.

Oh that's beyond.... just beyond.

Ok Gang, I am going to attempt to go to work.
Hopefully I will see y'all later, but if not, play nice!

did y'all get water in the house? No....thanks to a brilliantly-engineered yard drainage system I put in about 5 years ago. 8-)
BTW, Mrs. Grim didn't get home until 2:30am after a meeting that ended at 8:30pm!

I was astounded to read on Drudge the other day that Greta von Susterputz has the highest rated show on cable.
