I learned today that my friend, P7M13, Len Baker of Denver, Colorado, died last Thursday in an automobile accident.
He was an amazing man - his profile page was simple, stating:
Texas Aggie, Class of 1976, Graduated 4 years late, Ag Ed Major, Rode the horse, Wore the boots
He was a devout Christian, worked countless hours in his Church, a devoted father and a good friend.
He reminded me constantly to see things from the point of view of others, and I will miss him more than I can express.

The good Lord called him home. He has a more important work for him in a better place than this now.
My prayers go up for his family and loved ones. May they be comforted and find peace through the Spirit that passeth all understanding, and may they know that they will see him again. May his soul find rest with his Maker.
Thank you for your wonderful tribute to him ... God bless you in your sorrow to take up in this life where your friend left off.

PING for the loss of a fellow Freeper. If you are on these ping lists.. you had dialogue with P7M13 recently.
Sad news of his passing. While searching for names to ping this too,.. I got another glimpse of his humor and wit.
He will be missed.
Hope this helped you "WhyisaTexasgirlinPA" to get the word out of his untimely passing.
God Bless, Vets

I flew down to San Antonio last weekend for a conference and went for a road trip when a friend of mine asked me, "Will you show me Texas?". Well of course we ended up in College Station and before going to the Chicken I took her to Loupot's and she advised that I buy a new cap (my old maroon one is getting a bit haggard). I did that and wore it proudly back through Detroit and finally back to State College. I was pretty homesick today and thought about how neat it was to spend an evening back in Aggieland. When I think of the things that make Aggies special, I think of strong, caring people like your friend who make work more enjoyable and churches and communities stronger. I wish everyone were fortunate enough to know a person like your friend. I am so sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the ping, Texaggie79.

Wow, I just logged on tonight and saw this....it brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know him or ever post to him, but you goota be touched by, "Rode the Horse, Wore the Boots".
He sounds like a man who touched many lives in a positive way.

"Texas Aggie, Class of 1976, Graduated 4 years late, Ag Ed Major, Rode the horse, Wore the boots" Do you know the significance of the horse and boots at Texas A&M? If not, I'm sure that others can tell it better than I can, but I can tell it to some small degree (though I can't do it justice).

Prayers being said.
And my heart is sinking like the setting sun
Setting on the things I wish I'd done
It's time to say goodbye to yesterday
And this is where the cowboy rides away
Oh the last goodbye's the hardest one to say
And this is where the cowboy rides away

A great deal of my martial arts training was philosophical, at one point we were taught that death is simply another part of life.
