In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
stentorian \sten-TOR-ee-un\, adjective:
1. Extremely loud; powerful; as, a stentorian voice.
2. Of or pertaining to a stentor; extremely loud; powerful; as, a stentorian voice; stentorian lungs.
3. Use of the voice.
Around his family, Sergeant Charles Mingus Sr. was easily angered and often violent and closemouthed the rest of the time, except when he gave orders in a stentorian voice that carried the assumption of command.
--Gene Santoro, Myself When I Am Real: The Life and Music of Charles Mingus
Etymology: Stentorian comes from Stentor, a Greek herald in the Trojan War. According to Homer's Iliad, his voice was as loud as that of fifty men combined. Date: 1605

Miss Bru, if you are subbing for the morning you may want to take roll of the croqs. It would seem
someone is skipping class.

sigh.....well, I do not teach until next week. Poor Miss Rika and I always have our hands full with those croqs of ours. I swear they live to boil our blood. Truth is, we like it. ;-)
To: Bella_Bru
Are you "stirring the soup" as your blood is boiling?

Hmmmmmn.
Nothing that dramatic from the Cook household .... Jean was reigning stage manager for all her HS plays, but isn't doing anything at the college (yet ... HE looks around nervously for somebody trying to volunteer him ..) and Ronnie does all their spring musicals' choreagraphy ..... I did have to teach the boys how to waltz for Cinderella.
I've never "performed" on stage except for ANS meeting presentations and sales trips.

uh oh, it's gone.
