Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., who has counseled caution in unilateral moves against Saddam, said Sunday he will vote for the resolution, but only after trying to make it more to his liking.

Excuse my crudess.

Mr. Dashole, please sit on it and spin.

I urge everyone to contact ABCNBCCBS and express your displease at their non-committal stance on airing the president's speech this evening.

For all these many months all we've heard from these talking head is how President Bush needs to come before the American people and explain to us why the need to attack Iraq. President Bush is about to do just that and they haven't decided to run it. New season programming is just oh so more important to the security of our nation.

I've emailed my opinions on the matter to the network, please let your voice be heard.

Have patience, they don't make it easier to find the right email address or comment box.

You don't suppose they really don't want to hear the American people's opinion, do you? Nah, that couldn't be it! /sarcasm

The networks' refusal to air the speech (another thread here) is really quite pathetic, although I think some of them are waiting to see what the others will do. Perhaps they believe that they can sway public opinion by ignoring the public's president. The problem is that some news organization(s) will cover this speech, and the rest of them will only prove their partisanship by ignoring it.

Two-thirds of respondents favored use of the military to remove Saddam. But the figure dropped sharply when those surveyed were asked about the prospects of substantial U.S. losses, significant Iraqi civilian losses and prolonged combat.

More proof that most polls are loaded and, therefore, irrelevant. Would you support the use of the military against Iraq if it meant that rabid monkeys would invade your house, pinch you on the bum and steal your TV remote? No??? Well, that just proves that Bush has no support for this warmongering endeavor.

I am thinking of moving to Australia - if I live "down under" I wonder if I can just avoid all the insanity here in the US. This sniper thing is a real pisser (forgive my crudeness, too). What a gutless wonder.

I am so glad for Fox News - at least it doesn't usually incite me to throw things at the tv.

OK, I will go now and send livid emails to the net-twerps.

I don't blame the networks for not carrying the speech: they know their audience and that the channels would be changed to BET, or Friends reruns, or anything else that would not make them think.

The SCOTUS will not hear the NJ Senate case.

FATHER O'MALLEY in WASHINGTON

Father O'Malley rose from his bed. It was a fine spring day in his new Washington DC parish. He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside. He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the US Senate for assistance.

The conversation went like this: "Good morning. This is Senator Daschle. How might I help you?"

This is Father O'Malley at St.Brigid's. There's a jackass lying dead in me front lawn. Would ye be so kind as to send a couple o' yer lads to take care of the matter?"

Senator Daschle, considering himself to be quite a wit, replied with a smirk, "Well now father, it was always my impression that you people took care of last rites!"

There was dead silence on the line for a long moment.

Father O'Malley then replied: "Aye, that's certainly true, but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin.

Isn't that the truth.

I believe I'm correct on this one: the people that need to hear the message, would chose to be amused by something else. I've given up asking people with whom I come in general contact if they've seen or heard the speeches, or read BKO, or Coulter, or Hannity...it got way old to see the blank looks I was getting.

If you move to Australia you might want to consider the taxes. They are oppressive. My father lived there.

If you do move I will send you buckets of SPF 45. It's a lovely country, I have been there often, but I really like New Zealand and Tazmania.

***** Now back to watching The Ladies Man, oops I mean Chief Moose. I wish he wasn't talking about such a tragedy because he really is ' The Ladies Man'.

Hi BWB...today is a special day for me, my son's birthday and a speech by Dubya coming up. I just hope the networks relent about carrying the speech, as I do not have cable.

I fired off emails to abcnbc & SeeBS this morning telling them "your comments and interpretations are of no use to me, I need to see the President of the United States give his speech." I hope the netjerks got a million calls and emails today.

If you put up the Guild thread Friday, October ll, there are a couple of things to throw rotten eggs at. That date is both Bent and Hitlery's wedding anniversary (married in 1975) and National Coming Out Day. You think Hitlery might come out on the 11th? Or even Bent, who was seen last week touring Europe in his pink shirt accompanied by gay Kevin Spacey?

Happy Birthday to number one son! I hope the netjerks got lots and lots of angry emails!

Oct 11 for the evil duoes anniversary huh? Should have been Halloween. But coming out day is most fitting.

I look to find what I can to honor the horrible couple on that day. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the bent data - I think we should properly celebrate this (one time) union in hell. It'll give a good set-up for the weekend.

Why Cincinatti??? Isn't that the home of Dennis Kucinich, the most "peaceful" congressman?
