The reason my husband agreed to homeschool was that I had to supplement our children's education at home to such an extent that they were better off being taught at home in the first place!
I took one child out of school in the middle of first grade. He was in Reading Recovery and had memorized the books, but could not read.
My son recently began third grade, and reads at the 4th grade level. That's the result of "uncredentialed home instruction"!
