[history]
Ranchers and farmers battling the government over fish protection in Oregon and Nevada said they're taking a page out of the environmentalists'book, trying to rally public support for their property rights cause with a cross-country convoy.
The Klamath Bucket Brigade of Klamath Falls, Ore., and the Jarbidge Shovel Brigade of Elko, Nev., left Oregon on Saturday for a 3,000-mile, 22-day drive to Florida. Sporting a 13-foot silver bucket and a 30-foot green-and-yellow shovel, they intend to raise money and support for Florida farmers.

Environmentalists said opponents of the Everglades project are part of a small minority generally made up of extremists. They said the government intends to buy out any farms that would be flooded.
The result is farmers going out of business, and the willing sellers the government is looking for are folks who have no choice but to sell at a fraction of their original land value.
"Our land went from $300 to $400 an assessed acre to $28 an acre," Ransom said, pointing out pictures of farms where fields that usually grow crops held nothing but sand and dust. "This is a disaster that never had to happen," Ransom said, ... (see this post for info.)
Land is only worth whatever you can grow on it; cattle, crops, developments, or wildlands. There is necessity for each, but taking productive farmland out of the hands of the true conservationists and placing it in the hands of the watermelon enviralists is slowly strangling our society and will lead to the ruination of our civilization.

What little eloquence I have comes from people like you, the movers and shakers on the ground confronting the socialist tendencies we all have. If I were King ... ... LOL.
Thank you, and the others who stand with you, for keeping this issue current, and showing just how important the restrictions on governments of all levels improve our freedom. Cheers.

BIG Bump!

Thanks for the ping. Good article. Enjoyed seeing my brother's name included in such a good cause. Coming from Alaska and having mining claims stripped from you lets a person understand what the govt can do to a person. I'm sure we would be amazed at how many persons are losing their property to the govt.

"...small minority, generally made up of extremists..."
...opposing a yet smaller minority, made up of predatory lawyers and watermelon ba$tard$.
To: B4Ranch
Thanks!
Isn't amazing when conservatives take time from work to protest, we are extremists, "Environmentalists said opponents of the Everglades project are part of a small minority generally made up of extremists."
When the STD/maggot infested watermelons protest, they are labled as activists!
