Wonders never cease in this day and age. Who'd have thunk it!!!??? Penn State is trouncing Nebraska 40-7 with 5:40 to go in the game. 100,000 fans going crazy in Happy Valley
You're a smart cookie!
Nice to see they discovered the running game today.
I dunno, there's not a whole lot of difference between 2, 3, and 4, but those rankings are pretty good, though you're a bit too harsh in your assessment of the SEC.
Any more days like today for the Big 12 and they'll fall far in a hurry. Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska and Baylor embarrassed the conference in a big way. Even my OSU Cowboys disappointed me today.
Outside of Ohio State, the Big 10 is a very average conference. Michigan is probably a top-20 team. Michigan State proved to be the conference's answer to Colorado today. Wisconsin stinks. Penn State sure looked good against Nebraska, though.
Looks like this may be the year for your 'Horns. But they have a pretty tough 4-game stretch with OU, at K-State, Iowa State, and at Nebraska. Basically it boils down to the Sooners and Wildcats standing between Texas and the Fiesta Bowl.
Nebraska will be lucky to make it to 9-4 this season. ISU, KSU, Okla State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Colorado all appear to be loseable after tonight's miserable performance. Solich probably won't be back for 2003.
I'm a proud alumnus of two Big 10+1 universities currently stuck in Big 12 land and I say, "Go, JoePa, go!" I've got about 6 Nebraska alumni where I work and, boy, am I looking forward to Monday!
Oh, there just there beating (trouncing, demolishing, stompin-into-the-turf) #15 Michigan State by 22 points!
Did anybody catch this game on ESPN2? It wasn't as close as the 22 point gap would indicate.
So if this keeps up, do the Golden Bears get a shot at the big time? Or do you have to be part of some club?
GrrRrrRah! GrrRrrRah! GrrRrrrRrrrRrrrRrrrRrrRah!
BTW, a winning football team will get the usual lefty pukes off the front page and turn Berkeley into Footballtown USA. So Roll On You Bears!
As we say in the hills of SW Virginia "You got it to do"

Being a Nebraska fan, the loss was deserved. The offense played poorly and the defense cannot be on the field as much as they were and expect to play well. It's going to be a tough season for Nebraska - they lost some quality players last year.
They do have an outstanding graduation rate for the football team at Nebraska and the other sports, and have many Academic All-Americans. I wish they would learn to spell "knowledge", however! :)
Diddle E. Squat: "Agree with that assessment of recent Penn State teams,"
Penn State's Big Ten record isn't quite THAT bad:
YEAR Overall (rank) Big Ten(rank) Bowl (W/L) 2001 5-6-0 4-4-0 (4) 2000 5-7-0 4-4-0 (5) 1999 10-3-0 (11) 5-3-0 (4) Alamo W 1998 9-3-0 (15/17) 5-3-0 (5) Outback W 1997 9-3-0 (16/17) 6-2-0 (2) Citrus L 1996 11-2-0 (7) 6-2-0 (3) Fiesta W 1995 9-3-0 (12/13) 5-3-0 (3) Outback W 1994 12-0-0 (2) 8-0-0 (1) Rose W 1993 10-2-0 (7/8) 6-2-0 (3) Citrus W
Only dropped out of the top 25 nationally the last 2 years,
and finished #11 as recently as 1999.
The Big Ten is a competitive conference.
