Elizabeth's pajamas were an Oriental-style of red satin. They are considered "sexy" even by grown women. Nails painted with aqua or blue polish, I'd say this youngster had discovered her feminity, which is usually an effort to attract males of the species.I think you're right. Besides, she might have left in her pajamas if it was being staged as a kidnapping.

Good point, Lakey, my teen-age grandaughters sleep in t-shirts and shorts or long knit pj's. They are pretty much into comfort though. It does paint a different picture of her than what we have seen. Nothing sinister here, just different.

RE: #794 ...but run away in her pajamas...
And you counter with:

Run away, yes. The first thing I'd do if I were going to run away is put on a pair of pyjamas in preparation for my flight. It's common knowledge that the Escape Officer at Colditz always insisted on pyjamas as the crucial gear. But you knew that.

Nothing sinister here, just different. Can't help but wonder who MK is sharing a room with now. Can't imagine she would be by herself.

And when, not if, they begin dressing entirely differently, will you suspect they are trying to create an aura of allure? Keep more of an eye on them?

Devil_Anse wrote "run away in her pajamas."
Looking back eons ago, remembering an aunt's gift to me of peach-colored satin pajamas, if I had been inclined to leave home in the middle of the night for a boy, you betcha I would have worn them.

Lakey, could it be possible that MK told her mother something significant right after the disappearance, something that caused Mrs. Smart to appeal to the alleged kidnapper that he shouldn't think he could have Liz to himself (paraphrasing)?
Someone whose voice MK recognized from just a brief meeting? Maybe not enough for her to be absolutely positive. We know now it wasn't Ricci -- and why or how would MK have had occasion to hear the voice of any of his acquaintances? Not very likely. But it is likely she would be familiar with the voices of trusted members of her community.

Yes, it's brilliant, isn't it? Our Romeo and Juliet are eloping, and what do they do? "I know, we'll make it look as if it's a kidnapping! That way, we'll be sure to have the police and the FBI scouring the country for us!" "Yes, dear, that would be nice!"

Red satin is considered sexy by everybody.Yes, and that type of "pajama" is often used for lounging and casual wear as well as strictly "pajamas."

Did you read the National Enquirer article? I bought one today, but it's Sept. 17th & only had Patsy Ramsey. $2.09!!
Chemotherapy, she looks awful.

My peach ones were called lounging pajamas. Can't recall if I had a boyfriend or not...but I would not have worn them in front of him. My mother would have killed me! At least I always thought she would, literally.

Did you read the National Enquirer article?Yes, I did. Nothing much new, except allegations that the FBI is unhappy with the SLC LE tunnel vision focusing primarily on Ricci. The FBI, according to the article, believes the perpetrator is still out there and they will pursue other leads.

You really believe youngsters think these things out? I'm not saying Elizabeth actually did run away - I'm not sure.
