Ahoy mateys, please check in here at the unofficial Pirate Chapter of Free Republic if you were at Friva and saw the Pirate Invasion at least one time while at the Treasure Island Resort.
Even though I could spot some of you unsavory pirates from across a room, I didn't bother to scribble your screen names on any of my numerous receipts from Vegas.
The good news is that my camera's fine now. I just purchased shoddy batteries in Reno. IT FIGURES with a name like that.
I'll bookmark this thread and post here occasionally because Jeb Bush doesn't need me full time. LOL
I make a motion that we have no issues or ping list. What more could you want in a chapter?
If you had a bad day at the office, drop by the Pirate Thread and just try to get our undivided attention.
And, finally, I make a motion that we don't take any guff from the bandwidth police. We'll sink their battleship if they try anything.
An Historic Day - The Pirate Chapter thread is officially opened on this 20th day of August, 2002.
But, why did I have to be late concurrent with the lecture on TIME? LOL How hilarious was that? I saw the clock on the screen -I knew I was busted.
My car got rear-ended today at a light. I hate that but I gave the lady a break -besides it was rush hour and we were near railroad tracks and ditches on both sides. I decided that I was okay and she wasn't stoppin' anyway.
As long as she read all my bumper stickers while she was back there, that's all I care about. LOL
Oim goin' ta hafta shivver somebodys timbers fer that one! Arrrr!!
A pirate and hero to Americans.
I know I missed some screen names from the conference - I'm sorry but I left and took a side trip to Reno, NV so I didn't get to spend liberal type "quality time" with many of you. You other scary people are vip pirates who wish you could have been at the Treasure Island Great Resort.
I do have a few grainy pictures I'll be posting here. I really, really had fun at Friva in addition to learning to pick the right message and stick to it. And, what a great thread you have, auntie mame... Over a thousand posts!
I think even more will attend next year as we prepare for the 2004 elections! The 2004 elections will be a battle royale. Let's sink algor's battleship!
Saturday evening, FV flies to Reno, NV, to stay at Harrah's where her brother played drums at the Sapphire there. We walked around Reno Sunday morning and I picked up some great souvenirs.
Upon my return flight to Vegas, I took the airport shuttle back to Treasure Island and found some stray freepers. They accompanied me to the Pirate Invasion which I hadn't seen yet.
I flew Fri, Sat, Sun, and Monday, a total of six planes. New stats show that we are returning to the skies. That's great!
Captain of the British Frigate (we were all sitting down at this point after FV got yelled at but not by the Captain.)
The Manly British Crew
Lots of special effects and explosions. In addition, it was 110 degrees in Vegas and you could really feel the flames from the pirate show. In other words, IT WAS HOT.
Oops, startin' to sink.
That's all for now pirate pals. I don't have a digital camera - that's my story and I'm stickin' to it. I may have a couple more shots of the frigate here somewhere. If I find em', I'll put them here. FV From the Crow's Nest
I'll add you to my pirate list. I sat on the left side back of the ballroom next to just another joe and a new friend from Chicago whose screen name I dont' recall. Check out the back side of the pirate show pictures I just posted. Fv
It will keep us in touch for future get togethers too. Florida is very big on pirates. If Tampa Bay gets the Republican Convention, we have our own Treasure Island here next to St. Pete. We can have a FR meeting with our toes in the sand.
Our beaches are great, especially Treasure Island beach and the Don Cesar Hotel(it's haunted you know). From the Crow's Nest
