Jury begins deliberations -Prosecutor says victim has pointed to her killer (keep it civil)

Jurors in the David Westerfield trial began deliberating yesterday after hearing a final statement from the lead prosecutor, who beamed a photo of 7-year-old Danielle van Dam onto the wall and urged the jury to focus on the physical evidence.

Finishing closing arguments in the two-month murder trial, prosecutor Jeff Dusek called a blood spot on Westerfield's jacket the "smoking gun." And Dusek imagined what Danielle might tell the jury if someone could bring her back to life "just for a moment" so she could answer the question, "Please tell us who did this to you."

"I've already told you," Dusek said the girl would tell the jury. "I've told you with my hair and where you found it. I've told you with the orange fiber that you found on my choker, and where you found it.

Does anybody here have access to nexus to track down any of the articles from the days following Adam's abduction? It happened on July 27,1981 in Hollywood Florida.

We could put a rest to speculation here, or perhaps give Feldman a reason to ask for LE to free DW. (I have no idea what THAT process would look like.)

Anybody able to get to the resources to track down this piece of information?

Does anyone know how extensive the interview was with Derek? He's VD's 10 yo. I wonder if specialists that deal with children were used or if the cops just asked him a couple of questions. The way this case was handled it wouldn't surprise me if they even spoke to him at all. ----I'm not asking because I think he's guilty of anything, just what info he would have on many subjects.

I at one time asked if maybe the friend drove a new blue van back to Florida when he left, but was informed he left by plane. Kind of strange he would have it shipped? If anyone can figure out a way to do a vechicle relese of liability search we could find out who owns it now. Another thought would be to try to obtain any video shots of VD residence w/ blue van in it and hope to zoom to plate #.

Mudd overruled Feldman EVERY chance he got. The good judge wasn't nearly as impartial as the media wh*re said he was. He should turn in his robe.

qustion would be are there any abandoned buildings, caves, aything where a body could be hidden perhaps in a chest? I often thought a ceder chest? Even with lid not entirely sealed a body wrapped would dry out but would bugs be able to enter?

This has been bothering me,
Dusek made a big deal in his closing arguement about DW's statement to police that he had never been invited to the VD's house and how suspicious that statement was.
I just checked the statement and this is how it goes.

Redden: Now have you ever been in the Van Dam's house? For any reason, whether parties or have they ever been -

I hardly find that suspicious. He was just answering the question as it was asked.

I was thinking(uh-oh)...Give that DW is an EE, and given that his posts read like an electrical lay-person(doesn't know what kind of batteries will work with what, etc ...) I have to wonder...

I live in Hollywood and I know somenone who worked on the investigation. I can try to find out something, but it might take a while and I can't promise that I can get it. Someone here might know a faster way of getting this information before I can. Would the names of the teenagers be public information being that they were underage?

If he posts here, I wonder if he posts for or against the vanDamned? I would guess he would smear the VDs enthusiastically with non-facts and silliness. Alternantively, he might defend them in the same way.
