"Even better is that Westerfield is white, middle-aged, wealthy, and self-employed. The perfect somebody to make an example of. (Don't want those Death Row inmates to feel the legal system is prejudiced against poor black criminals!)"
Yep, that really says it all as far as some minds think.
HEY! Really like your transcribing!! YOU'RE SUPER, GIRLIE!

They [the small circle of folks that make the major nets and the cable news shows] are all like characters in some Sinclair Lewis novel. It's all unthinking boosterism, all the news faces are Babbits of various form. All suffer that fierce sense of belonging to that inner circle of cogniscenti and one opinion gets fixed in it, they all beleive it as written on stone before the flood. Oh! The bondage of belonging to the media perosnality elite!

I think the VD case was an inside job, also, a total of four bedrooms all occupied. No chance that ANYBODY grabbed a child and fled down those stairs and out the door with her...

ROTFLMRO!!
When that verdict of NOT GUILTY comes in, *everybody* turn on court tv! It'll be so much fun to watch exploding heads.....ALL day long!! HEY! Taping the entire day wouldn't be a bad idea either!!

"Hope you haven't been out fighting fires this summer! Wa. has had a few, yes?"
Yes, it's been a bad year for forest fires in WA, but in 26 years with Seattle FD (retired in 93), I never fought what I would call a forest fire. Of course the last ten years, I served on the Chief's staff, as the departments "Research and Development" officer, so other than operating from a command post, on major fires, I haven't physically fought a fire in about 20 years.
I'm thinking those days might be over. LOL

I have a question: CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF DAVID WESTERFIELD IS RIGHT HANDED OR LEFT HANDED?

"I think the VD case was an inside job."
Can't be anything but and inside job. One of the investigators even said as much to the vdams. That whoever did it, knew that house, knew where all the rooms were, knew about the dog, blah, blah, blah.

It'll be so much fun to watch exploding heads.....ALL day long!! Now that's a real image to stick in our minds, as Nancy Grace would say, as her head explodes (virtualy speaking).

Fres, I was reading the report of Dusek slamming his hand down repeatedly to mimic the sound of Danielle's head being "...slammed against the headboard while David Westerfield repeatedly raped her."
Imagine how tall (or how small) this child was. Imagine he has her positioned so that her head is hitting the headboard of the bed. For the sake of argument, let's assume the missionary position. This should have the effect of slamming DW's head right through the drywall!
Granted he could have been forcing her to perform oral copulation, but the missionary position seems a bit farfetched.
I assume Fres that at some point in your life (unlike certain other posters who will remain unnamed) you have occasionally seen a fully erect, turgid penile member.
Now try to imagine gaining entry with such a war-club into the vagina of an admittedly small 8 year old. No way. Doesn't fit. Now I'm not saying he couldn't have simply placed his member in a stimulating position. That could be, but as to actual penetration, I don't think so.
So the fist-pounding by Dusek may have imitated a sound, but I dare say it wasn't this poor child slamming her head into his headboard.
I also love the one about his dumping the body. Can someone please tell me why the seemingly "rational" and "intelligent" DW decides to provide the police with a perfect crime scene to investigate when he could easily have disposed of her forever in the ocean, a lake, a cave, 6 feet under, dismembered and strewn, immolated, you name it.
But no, DW, that old softy, just couldn't stand the thought of not giving the cops a run for their money. It just doesn't make sense. It's illogical. But someone who had decided that it was time for the body to show up after making sure the police had their man, a person who might want their child's body back,...well, you get the picture.
I vote GUILT NOT PROVEN. He may have done it, but you, Mr. Dusek, didn't prove it.

Unfortunately, it seems that most of the high profile child murders seem to be in house cases, all but Chandra Levy, and she wasn't a child any more. But, Jon Benet, Elizabeth Smart and this one, all appear to be perpetrated by someone in the family. The lack of stranger DNA, fingerprints or any other sign of a stranger in the home should have led the police directly to Damon.

"They are saying this to sway the public."
Of course, that's their "game". So, when DW is found not guilty, his life won't be worth a plug nickel.
Also, court tv is for the ones that cannot think for themselves......So court tv does it for them. That's so obvious, they should have a screen scroll that says it.

Feldman: As soon as I sit down, there's going to be some fireworks. We don't fight our wars in the street. Our war is in the courtroom. This is a very, very adversarial, intense experience, and you can bet the other side is loading up.
