Who should be next on Mt. Rushmore? I voted Reagan
Mount Flushmore
Thank you. I agree 100%
He got shot.
He did Marilyn Monroe.
Got his ass kicked by Castro in the Bay of Pigs.
Was waist deep with the Mafia to the point of even sharing a mistress with Chicago Mob boss Sam Giancana (who helped him steal the election from Nixon).
Appointed his brother Bobby as Attorney General in a clear classic case of nepotism.
Made LBJ his vice-prez (but in name only. Brother Bobby was the real vice-prez)
Awwwww....party poop!
You're exactly right, of course. The whole Mt. Rushmore schtick was originally a joke on the part of the now defunct American Spectator magazine to tick off the liberals - "Ron on the Rock!" The number of people who still take it seriously reminds us all that Barnum was right...

Dear Secretary Norton:
USA today had an online poll today which asked for a vote that if another President were added to Mt. Rushmore, whom should it be?
There was a discussion board linked to the poll, and one of the posters (screen name: abtalark) wrote the following:
"I did a report on Mt. Rushmore for a college class a while back and actually called the superintendent of Mt. Rushmore to speak of this issue.
He stated that all though Mt. Rushmore had the potential room for another head that the structure may not be stable enough to hold the new head.
Personally I think they should just leave it alone. If they want to add some more presidents, then find a new place and make a second "Mt. Rushmore".
Oh and the superintendent said the following about President Regan [sic] and I quote: "Adding President Regan to Mt. Rushmore would be like adding Pee Wee Herman to the Last Supper."
If this is true, then the superintendent of Mt. Rushmore should be looking for other employment forthwith.
Most sincerely,
PS: Standard "canned" reply is not necessary.
He did reduce top marginal tax rates. He was anti-communist and stood firm against Russia and Cuba. He help push Civil Rights legislation forward. He did not push any Great Society programs nor any silly socialized health care BS. Instead he said, "ask not what your country can do for you...." (When was the last time a Democrat said and meant that?) Kennedy couldn't hold Reagan's jock strap, but Kennedy would get more vote for the best Democrat President. MLK and JFK are conservatives by todays standards.
No man ever rushed for more. : )
