One hint: this is normally a place you wouldn't mind visiting.
Also, NASA Earth Observatory has images of the eruption cloud from the eruption at Nyamuragira and a Space Shuttle photograph of the Mauna Loa caldera. Kilauea Eruption Update has some new ocean entry pictures from last week.

Hawaii? I can't think of the island name, but one of the islands has a barren moonscape type area.

I am going to guess that this is on the island of Martinique- by the shape of the roofs, and the amount of ash and large volcanic debris covering the buildings. I also see a body of water in the distance- the Caribbean??
