What was shocking is how casually my co workers made their comments, like I should have had no problem with the way my finace's family behaved.

They have been so conditioned to believe the stereotype given to them that there's not question in their mind that it's a fact. That they're allowed to vote is really, really scary.

Out of curiosity how much property would you have to own? What about property owning females? They also have a stake in the country. To exclude them does not seem very just of you.

Very good post. When I was dating, I would keep my affiliation secret until I secured my image as a thoughtful, kind, well educated person. Then it's impossible for a blanket statement to stick. It's a shame that such tactics are needed.
