Yes, the outermost ring is Jupiter's orbit. Click on the photo for the BIG chart (easier to see detail).
Astronomy Fun Fact:
Astronomers assign asteroids to groups depending on their orbits. We all know the Asteroid Belt, but there are also the Jupiter Trojans, the Atens, the Apollos, the Amors, the Centaurs, etc.
Atens, Apollos, and Amors are Near Earth Asteroids. Atens approach Earth's orbit from the inside, Apollos cross Earth's orbit, and Amors approach Earth's orbit from the outside. Centaurs orbit between Saturn and Neptune (yes I know Uranus is in there too).

APOD PING!

Thanks, bump !

That's pretty interesting to wannabe asteroid miners. We will have to get out beyond the orbit of Mars to get into the mass of the good stuff, although there are probably a few plums close in. First one there wins, don't be late.

Interesting, and quite alarming, too.

Would you kindly add my name to your ping list? I'm homeschooling a son who is obsessed with astronomy, and I need all the help I can get in this subject. Thanks. =)
