AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 536) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 10, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 07/10/2002 4:11:28 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

WorldCom announced they will decide within the next three weeks whether they have to file for bankruptcy protection. Analysts seem to think it is a foregone conclusion. It would be the largest such filing in US history, doubling the size of the Enron folding.

An Al Qa'eda audio tape has a spokesperson assuring the world The Evil One and Mullah Omar are alive and well.

A group of parents in Oakland, CA, are suing the school district for violation of the Establishment Clause. No, this time it is not Christianity that is at question. The action focuses on what has popped up in the news of late about certain practices in public schools in Kantafordia. According to The Washington Times, the parents filed suit because the schools, after September 11, "encouraged students to wear Muslim robes, adopt Islamic names, and stage make-believe pilgrimages to Mecca to learn about the faith."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

#324 -- We go to LLBean whenever I'm in Maine! The kids love it because Nona will always cough up for whatever they want - HAH! We usually try to go to the concerts on the lawn at LLBean. They are fun, fun, fun and geared to the kids.

Thanks ohioWfan. Those pictures are terrific. I just love Bath, it is the sweetest little town. Friends of my daughter/son-in-law own a bed and breakfast there, so I usually try to spend at least one night at the B&B with them.

I don't know that the ferry had a name - actually it was a catamaran and it is the only high-speed super cat ferry in the US. Super smooth most of the time. Leaves from Bar Harbor and lands in Yarmouth, NS. Usually takes 2-1/2 hours to Bar Harbor from Yarmouth, but it took us a bit longer as we left Yarmouth late and the water was rough - had a bit of a problem getting our bus on board. For a while we thought we'd have to wait until the next day, but they finally jacked that bus around so that it could make the very tight curve to get on the ferry. Was interesting watching the bus driver sweat!!!

Save your questions and when I get back from Maine, Freepmail me and I'll got through all my "stuff" and tell you all the places we stayed. That way you can get some ideas. However, we didn't stay at any B&B's.

We were at Peggy's Cove just a few months before a jetliner went down there. Remember that - a couple of years ago.

I'm with Lysie!!!

Anne of Green Gables is totally a huge part of the life of Prince Edward Island and Green Gables is very interesting. There is a small "museum" there that tells the story of the farm and the owners. All of the other, usual tourist stuff is there too.

Seeing the musical in Charlottetown really had all of us jazzed up for the visit to Green Gables.

Sounds the same as the trip I had, though the ferry was not a catamran, and was definitely not high speed.

The difference between high and low tides is still the most memorable part to me. I am a North Carolina native and accustomed to the high and low tides we have here. I would not want to be in the area if they had a hurricane, because the storm surge would unbelievable.

Did you happen to "do" Lunenburg? I thought it was a fascinating seaport/small town. The museum there has a chapel with the names of those lost at sea over the last 100 years or so. So many names were the same - whole families lost at sea. Sad, but interesting.

I'll wave hi. :) I'd love to visit Maine someday, visit Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. I just love Anne of Green Gables.

Now to be totally stupid, but in the belief that any temperature below 80 F is freezing, that wasn't snow, was it?

No, dear Jemian. Those are rocks. Look beyond them, though......that's not water......it's ice. :o)

I agree with whomever, was it you Ohio?, said they feel close to God on the beach.

If I didn't say it, I could have said it! I could live on the beach.

We've got friends who live in Bath, so we stayed there for a night on our way up to Acadia. That was after we spent $300.00 at LL Bean!! (Love that place!)

I just got back. I've been hi-jacked twice tonight...

A spare blessing came floating down. The camp we decided not to send bratling to... thank Him. Well, many churches have taken up a collection. They are paying for any of the children in the church to go to a very good Christian camp in a week or so. And transportation (no bus company need apply). And pretty much everything except spending money.

I may be a little misty-eyed right now.

I don't normally take help. But this is different. Very different.

I call on all of us who pray to call on angels to defend President Bush and Vice President Cheney, and confound, confuse, and defeat their enemies!

AMEN!

Prayers lifted.

In case I miss the opportunity, I want to let you know that I will keep you in my prayers as you leave. Thank you for your service to our country. And thanks for the prayers for the President and Vice President. We will win, I firmly believe. God bless you, John.

John ~~~ that's wonderful about the camp .... and you're very right to take advantage of it. That's a gift of love and should be accepted.
