We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
WorldCom announced they will decide within the next three weeks whether they have to file for bankruptcy protection. Analysts seem to think it is a foregone conclusion. It would be the largest such filing in US history, doubling the size of the Enron folding.
An Al Qa'eda audio tape has a spokesperson assuring the world The Evil One and Mullah Omar are alive and well.
A group of parents in Oakland, CA, are suing the school district for violation of the Establishment Clause. No, this time it is not Christianity that is at question. The action focuses on what has popped up in the news of late about certain practices in public schools in Kantafordia. According to The Washington Times, the parents filed suit because the schools, after September 11, "encouraged students to wear Muslim robes, adopt Islamic names, and stage make-believe pilgrimages to Mecca to learn about the faith."
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
You have had one of those never-to-be -forgotten vacations..Good Gracious!!
Smart to have a plan B! and wonderful of Gracey to help, too!
Oh! Sorry to have missed that singer last night...boo hoo..^;)
And the game: What an EMBARRASSMENT...Sen. Jim Bunning called for Selig's resignation....
Too bad the nitwits running baseball can't absorb from the First Fan some of HIS respect for the game!
Keep us posted...
If you have the requirement to put nine men on the field, the analysis is simple.
[Caveat, I didn't watch the game, or read the reports, but there is still much that can be surmised.]
Facts known: Both teams had used all their reserves from the bench. Both teams had used all available pitchers.
Assumption: Worst case, the team that was about to take the field at the top of the 12th could not field the pitcher because he was injured. (I'm not sure I believe even my own assumption, but stay with me.) Now even in sandlot rules, if you cannot field a team, you forfeit. In MLB, once a player has been used and removed from the game, he cannot play again in the same game. No exceptions.
Selig's course should have been clear. He should have told the team that was to take the field, either take the field with nine players or forfeit.
To me, that is the team that lost.
Instead, what occurred is a farce.
The fans deserve refunds. Each and every one of them. They didn't see a baseball game. They were provided a baseball show (not the same thing). It was deceitful and disingenuous, and not keeping with the spirit of baseball.
Bud Selig, if you have integrity, step aside. You have committed an unforgiveable tragedy upon the game.

I see your back! Welcome home!
And LOLOL!!
Howdy bud!
Nice rant. Absolutely agree.
I wonder if this an example of things to come.
I think if a work stoppage occurs again, it will be very tough for the game to come back.
It is now clear where things are going:
Bud Selig is to baseball as UOx42 is to politics.
And Carville is also involved.
Answer: They should ask themselves a question. "To what religion do the sole users of nuclear weaponry in warfare ascribe?"
That clown will never resign.
It's amazing how much show is made of the All-Star Game. Especially the "show" of the fans being involved in it. Fans voting for the players, and this year the "30th Man" voting on the internet. But when it comes right down to the actual game, the managers have to treat all the players like precious commodities or something. It's as if the All-Star Manangers could have been sued by the players or the players managers if they got too tired, or strained a muscle. Phooey! They baby these players, way too much. They are professional athletes for crying out loud. It's not like you're asking them to climb Mount Everest!!!
Hassidics and Amish?
Seems this is a DNC front group.....x42's fingerprints are on this one.....I will bet !!
The respondents could not identify the source, because the ads did not say that American Family Services main supporter was the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Nor is that information available on AFV's website (http://www.checkforyourself.com). AFSCME is one of America=s largest and most politically active labor unions, with 1.3 million members. AFSCME=s political action committee gave about $2.4 million to federal candidates in this election; roughly 95 percent to Democrats. AFSCME gave $4.4 million in soft money in the 1999-2000 cycle. [3] Not only was this more than any other entity gave in that campaign, but it set a new record for soft-money contributions.[4] AFSCME sent 270 delegates to the Democratic National Convention.[5] AFSCME president Gerald McEntee chairs the AFL-CIO political committee.[6]
AFSCME provided $800,000 to create American Family Voices in July 2000. American Family Voices is a social welfare organization organized under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, so it does not have to disclose its donors. Michael Lux, AFV's president and a former Clinton White House staffer, claimed in August that he had already raised an additional $700,000 for the campaign.[7] Later numbers were not available at the time of this report.
