In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
claque \KLACK\, noun:
claques; plural
1. A group hired to applaud at a performance.
2. A group of fawning admirers.
He cultivated the "Georgetown set" of leading journalists and columnists and had them cheering for him as if he had hired a claque.
--Theodore Draper, "Little Heinz And Big Henry," New York Times, September 6, 1992
Etymology: French, from claquer to clap, of imitative origin. Date: 1864

For months she has told anyone who would listen that she was having a Blue's Clues cake for her birthday - which always elicits a strange look in my direction from her daddy! I went to the craft store on saturday - OUCH the price for that cake mold!!! needless to say, she is getting blues Clues cupcakes, not a cake!!!

Hmmmmmn.
And here I was thinking she was replying to Nbr 80.
(Doesn't this relate to the potentially low orgasm ratio being discussed? Perhaps hobbes can provide the missing link.)
The NY claque despises Martha for doing "so good" at "homemaking and decorating" (in the classic supportive uber-wife" position ... and without a man - as you pointed out!) while Hillary can't do ANYTHING without her "man" pulling her along and providing for him as the "vote-getter."
Without him, she is vile, mean charpy, screaming at the Ulysses as he passes by untouchable - because 'She"" can't get elected without him.
And they know it.
You had a great reply on the Square Pie thread on Saturday....
Hey Teach, can Loaner get extra credit for working his math on the weekend?
(Psst. Arghie. How many compliments you think Loaner's gonna need before he buys us all a round in the Lounge on Friday?)
