MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- In a cross between science fiction and a children's tale, a moon rock gets dug up from its peaceful valley, flies aboard Apollo 17 to Earth, visits Honduras and winds up in a U.S. court.

IMHO, NASA is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Put your tinfoil hats on for this... what if NASA is fighting to keep this rock out of the public domain because they are afraid someone will test it in a lab and determine it came from Arizona, nowhere near the moon?!

It's all relative, it might be valuable to NASA or a space-o-phile or a scientist, but it would be worthless to me. How does one attach specific monetary value to something like this? It's like those Franklin Mint collector's plates. This one is worth 150 dollars, this one a thousand. Yeah, but only to people who collect Franklin Mint plates.
