We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Before the news, would all members of the class, particularly those who live in those states served by the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals, stand and join in saying - loud enough so even those thick-skulled "Justices" on the "Ninth Circus Court" can hear you - the Pledge:
As Rush has often admonished his listeners, the following is somewhat distrubing, and you may want to scroll down past this.

You have been warned...
For anyone who doesn't believe what the Palestinians are teaching their youth isn't a religion of death, the Israeli Defense Force released the following photograph of an infant found in the Hebron home of a Palestinian man wanted by Israelis:

An explosion, belived by many to be the work of Al Qa'eda and the Talibums, in a munitions store in southern Afghanistan, killed five and started a fire in a UN food center.
A major battle is underway in the Philippines against a guerrilla group associated with Al Qa'eda.
Two men who were part of Iran's delegation to the UN, and who were in this country for only about four months, were expelled after being seen videotaping such things as the Holland Tunnel, Brooklyn Bridge, and other landmarks.
A Muslim lady in Florida is suing the state saying she does not want a photo of her on her driver's license not wearing a veil. Prior to September 11, she was allowed to have a photo wearing the veil, but after that date, the Florida authorities insisted she (and presumably others) replace it with one showing her visage as a matter of public security.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
USSC throws out speech restrictions on Judicial Candidates
In Nov. 2000, we had a very bitter campaign for one of Ohio's Supreme Court seats.
With this ruling yesterday, such contests will be even livelier.
Personally, I think it's fine, and believe me, having spent last evening with some in the legal community, the lawyers are recognizing this possibility.
Sounds about right gc6.
He needs to be careful what he wishes for though, 'cause he might just get it...in ways he never even dreamed of!
I stupidly listened to Talifero (810 am out of SF) last night and he was GLOATING that the American People were waking up at last and soon the "nitwit that stole the Presidency" would be gone AND the Democrats would have both houses as of 11/5.
I have got to stop listening to this JERK!
I was raised as a Catholic, and as I was going through life and college I decided that I would be either an agnostic or an aetheist. Then I went into the Army and things weren't right. I saw grunts who didn't believe in G-d start believing. That didn't deter this bull-headed Kehoe. I still tried to convince myself there wasn't a G-d.
Then one day I had a bright idea. I would read the entire Bible, Old Testament to New. I knew this would convince me (from all of the contradictions) that I was correct in my belief.
But after reading the OT (Daniel, Jeremiah, Isais, etc.) and thier prophesies coming true in the New Testament I couldn't rationalize away God or Jesus.
Call it an epiphany, but methinks it was were I was supposed to be all the time.

I'm with you - I think this is a good thing. Why can't we, in those states where the electorate weighs in on the judiciary, get to know what they are thinking about legal issues?
My epiphany came during late fall 2000.
I ascribed to being a Christian all along, but only went through the motions.
But after the abject display of what occurred on November 8, 2000, it became a question of whether "what was up to no good" would continue to govern or whether "good" would triumph and allow this Nation an opportunity for greatness based on fair principles.
To put it more bluntly, I figured if there really was a God and all that were true, he would not allow this Nation to suffer a coup and be plunged into the abyss such a move would cause, but would rather allow Good to triumph.
Of course, for Good to triumph, those who which to see it so had to answer the call - and I do believe the call went forth based upon our collective prayers being constantly offered to deliver us from the tragedy that we, in our human failings, had allowed to come into being.
For me, all of this had to have occurred with the intervention of a higher power. It is the only way. Our prayers were answered. And I came to believe with my heart.
I was brought up in a deeply devout Southern Baptist family.........church was my other home.
I was 'baptized' at 8.
...but as Chair said.....it didn't reach my heart, until I was 35!
I tried to be as 'good' as I could be............but I wasn't....not inside, where it counts.
I didn't have my epiphany until 35, and God shook me down to my core.
Am very thankful ....late is better than never.
PS...and my husband joined me 2 years later.
We were both big workers in the church all the time our hearts weren't even right with the Lord!!
Now we still work in the church, but it's a whole different perspective.
USSC said money = speech......CFR limits money.....hence it limits speech right?
I think we might gleam the Court's thinking on CFR from this decision...
I can relate, lysie. Mr HOB cranks the AC so low the inside of the sliding glass doors frost over! I have 4 of them on the main level of the house!
Terrible scam news about the Smarts. I can't believe its true.
gc6, Poor little raccoon. I wouldn't want you mad at me! You sound just like my father when he declares war on the groundhogs in his garden!
I am embarassed now to talk about it, but I truely believed that force of arms was the only choice.
But, then, IMHO, the Lord intervened.
Good thing, because I'm too old to go to war again.

I'm almost in tears while typing this, but the event is still fresh and vivid. I'll will never ever forget that experience....ever.
MK - I do not believe your activities were at all un-Christian like.
Is it wrong for good people to stand up and defend themselves in the face of evil? I don't think so, not in the least.
Remember too, had the coup plotters been successful, they would have had armaments on their side (wanna bet they didn't have conversations about this on the other side? - liberals don't believe in guns, unless they are to subjegate people). So your thinking is vindicated on that level also.
Now you can well imagine some of the very difficult choices I was facing. But I had become comfortable with becoming part of an already forming Fifth Column that would work to wreck the machine from the inside as others addressed the external workings.
Not much of a surprise there.
OH, I know how you feel, JHENN! The pain is excruciating, and the tears abundant, but you begin to realize that all the other loving parents who have watched their sons and daughters leave to serve this great country must share the same grief and pride.
It has been more than 2 weeks since Eric left, and I'm still having trouble going into his room. Every time I look at his picture, I choke up a bit. I miss him more than I can express.
Having had two older kids leave for college, and knowing I survived it and adjusted to their absence helped a bit. But having a son go into the military creates a very different set of emotional conflicts. There is a great pride, but at the same time a knowledge that in this uncertain world, there may come a time when he will need to put his life on the line for his country, and that is scary.
I will be praying for you these days.........the anguish does ease. God is faithful, and he will protect your son, and bring comfort to you and your husband as well.
When pigs fly!!!!! But I agree "Who kidnapped Warner?"
I'm glad you're here to witness to that.
