WorldCom discovered for the entirety of 2001 and the first quarter of 2002, its CFO was overreporting earnings - to the total tune over the period of nearly $4 billion. Arthur Andersen was the accounting firm; they claim their work was in compliance with SEC standards and that it was WorldCom's CFO that was withholding data from them. The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation. A preliminary search of the Internet has not, so far, turned up any connections with the previous Administration. Give it time.

Martha Stewart is now facing a wider investigation into her stock dealings. She says she wants "to concentrate on [her] salad."

The FBI searched a home near Ft. Ditrick. The home belonged to a scientist with access to anthrax.

Ya'll - I had some wild experiences in the high school where I taught! One day I asked them how many of them wee Americans and only 4 to 5 out of each of three senior calsses raised their hands!!!!!!!

NONE of my homeroom kids (seniors) said the Pledge of Allegience !!!!! I had to call "Security!" to get a disruptive (an understatement ) punk out of my class one dayJUST for openers! Teachers EARN their paychecks I can attest!

Thanks! I am heading to Va Beach in the morning for a family reunion/cousin's wedding, so I will be offline for a few days, but I will be posting after I get back! I never knew GIRLS could be so trash-mouthed! I had more trouble with them than the boys! What an eye opener! I had to deal with bi-polar kids on and off meds., ADHD kids on and off meds., and all sorts of teen problem kids! I had to shop just to keep my spirits up! Getting up at 5 a.m. is no picnic! The weird thing is that I actually really love teaching, and I learned a lot of what NOT to do next year!
