We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
President Bush stated yesterday that he supports the notion of a Palestinian State, but not with Arafat as its leader - he must go.
The FBI, using authority granted by the Patriot Act, is now going into libraries with search warrants checking on the reading records of people they, with a court's assent, believe are terrorists or working in concert with terrorists.
Wildfires in the west are consuming acerage at a rate about double the usual 10-year average.
China is planning to buy eight more Russian submarines.
President Bush has signalled he does not want to see AMTRAK shut down.
And shares of the Martha Stewart company Living Omnimedia fell by 18% yesterday.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

"I'm home, DJ. Good morning."ROFLOL! Lysie..I was talking about the reporters, not youse guys. :-) How are you this morning? I'm afraid to get in my shower ya know.
Chair...while I was up in GA I was treated to a various array of spiders. While I used to be scared to death of the Daddy Long Legs, some of the spiders I saw up there made me want to take them in a pets. Ever see a Banana Spider? EWWWW. Anyway, Michael has a fascination with spiders since receiving his last edition of Zoobooks, and so I got the Daddy Long Legs off the wall and showed him how it tickles your skin when he walks on your hand. It was pretty cool.

Sorry I did not reply to your post last night about my sister's surgery. They have tried altering her diet to no avail. She has been on medicine that slows down her digestive system which she has to take 30 minutes before eating a meal. The other night, she had an attack and I can tell you this: the pain she was in made me want to cry. It was horrible to watch it. It lasted about 10 minutes at the most, but afterwards she was weak and very tired. This condition started almost 3 years ago, and she tried every diet she could come across to no avail. Being that it runs in the family, the doctor said there is a good possibility that she may have either one (Crohns or ulcerative colitis) or that it may be something more simple but the only way they can rule anything in or out at this point (because the medicine is not working) is to do this surgery. The good news is that she will be completely knocked out for it.
Thanks for you concern and advice.

I read JH2's comments this morning. Once again, a clear, well thought out and articulated article by JH2.
Well friends, gotta run for a while. Time to do a new software build so we can modify our course accordingly before taking it to Boston! Back as time allows!!

Thanks, Chair. I'm hoping it is something less serious then the other two diagnosis given as possibilities. We will find out soon...her surgery is scheduled for July 11th.

What a wonderful gentleman you were! I'm sure your lovely wife thought you were quite a catch as well! 43 years -- my husband and I got together later in life, so it won't probably last that long - - but I do love the time we have had and will have together.
Prayers for your daughter. Was her jaw injured in an accident or is this the result of a previous surgery/disease. Just wondering as I have had radiation to the jaw and before an oral surgeon would remove a tooth that had broken, I had to undergo 40 hours in a hyperbaric chamber at Mt. Vernon hospital in Virginia before they would remove it. Seems radiation really narrows blood vessels and the pressurized oxygen in a hyperbaric chamber actually encourages the growth of new blood vessels. Otherwise, I would have probably not healed and they worried about osteo-necrosis (death to the bone).
Prayers to all - - to Teacup for her little grandson; for John that his children will have peace in the midst of the tragic bus accident in Texas; for DJ88 sister - - may she find physical comfort and a solution to her condition; and to all you who need prayer but may be too shy to ask for it. God knows who you are and he's working out solutions in your life even as we speak......

Prayers for your sister. I just got off the phone with mom. Dad is out of surgery, but they were not able to get the entire tumor. He will be getting radiation to kill off the remainder.
I am headed up in just a few minutes to give blood at the church.

Am wondering how those who were seriously injured yesterday are doing...
Thanks for the update on your Dad, John.
DJ-Praying that answers are found for your sister. Very rough with a small child to look after.
ohio - Are you back? Any more from Eric??
g6 - That is a precious story. Thanks so much for sharing it. The 50s, while not without its problems, are way too maligned, IMO.
kay - Is this the day you set out for Florida?? Will be missing you, but you are deserving of a wonderful rest!

There is a prayer meeting at 11. I am taking the kiddo to that, and I'll be across the street giving blood. She will get an update at the prayer meeting. She did get in to see her friend with the broken back last night. She is expected to make a full recovery. (this information comes from the 14 year old and may be subject to correction)

Let me tell you how my husband and I met.
I was just recouping from the flu when my sister-in-law called inviting me to dinner at their house. She said my brother had arranged a blind date for me. Having had a few dud dates and still not feeling up to par, I respectfully declined. About 15 minutes later my brother called telling me that I simply HAD to accept this date....giving me the line about how nice this guy was....girlfriend just broke up with him, etc. After his repeated pleas, I gave in. All the while...I'm thinking ack!!! I feel lousy..I don't want to go on a date with someone I know, much less a stranger.
When it was time, I pulled out of my driveway and headed toward my brother's home. I decided it would be nice to stop at a store to buy a bottle of wine. So I did.
Arrived at my brother's...met the date...had dinner...played UNO...went home with the idea .....nice guy I just met...but I still feel lousy.
We had several dates after, but it wasn't until after we were married did Hubby tell me the REST of the story. When I was pulling out of the driveway to go to my brother's he saw me...followed me to the wine store...watched me get out..buy the wine and get back in my truck AND he still kept the date. LOL
To this day he tells people he won me playing a game of UNO AND that when I came out of the store I was pickin' my nose. I don't pick my nose. :-)

About 15 years ago she had to have two wisdom teeth cut out and, one got extreamy infected so she had to have a jaw bone replaced. It has worn out so, we got to go thru this all over again but it is a lot more serious than the first time.
