AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 520) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 25, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 06/25/2002 4:09:50 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

President Bush stated yesterday that he supports the notion of a Palestinian State, but not with Arafat as its leader - he must go.

The FBI, using authority granted by the Patriot Act, is now going into libraries with search warrants checking on the reading records of people they, with a court's assent, believe are terrorists or working in concert with terrorists.

Wildfires in the west are consuming acerage at a rate about double the usual 10-year average.

China is planning to buy eight more Russian submarines.

President Bush has signalled he does not want to see AMTRAK shut down.

And shares of the Martha Stewart company Living Omnimedia fell by 18% yesterday.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

POLs ... had he called me the authress of I know why the caged bird sings but I'm not going to tell you twaddle I would have been forced to hit the abuse button.

A very odd event, that, Miss Marple ... and makes me even more convinced that I miss nothing by missing Rush ...

I still think I am on to something ... using you as a witcher for angst. HAR!

Thanks for all your prayers. Little Jacob is not doing well, he is just not responding to anything. He is in ICU, they were supposed to do the surgery this morning for the dialysis and feeding tube through his nose, but his hematacrit is at 17, and they can't give him any more blood right now, because they can't control his blood pressure after the transfusion. So, we are just waiting for him to improve so that the surgery can be done. They did give him morphine again this morning so that he isn't in pain.

My other brother called this morning, he took his wife to the hospital, she has blood clots in her lungs. She fell and shattered her leg three weeks ago, and has been very immobile. She hadn't been feeling well for the last couple of days, and then got much worse last night. The paramedics were called, and they transported her to the hospital. She is now in intensive care, but is responding to treatment. My brother is absolutely distraught over this, my mom went to be with him today. My dad will take my grandma to my aunt's house today (a few days early), and then will go to the hospital to be with my other brother and the baby. My family truly appreciates the thoughts prayers of everyone here.

And my prayers are going out to those who need them...

I've thrown the following quote at some people here on FR. A few have come back and insulted Ronald Reagan, and then I know they are not true conservatives, just hateful people who try to pull down anything and everything.

"When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it. "Compromise" was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything.

"I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: 'I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.'

"If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.

~~ Ronald Reagan, in his autobiography, An American Life .

UG ~~~ Oh my! Some of you just seem to have troubles piling up on top of troubles. Will add this s-i-l and your brother to my ever-lengthening prayer list.

DJ ~~~ MamaB, who posts regularly on the Dose (Day in the Life ... Thread) has a daughter who has Chrohns' .... you might want to FReepmail her for support/advice, etc. ..... *hugs*

Guennie ~~~ we're going to a business conference down your way ... Ponte Vedra Beach.

..... though there will be workshops and stuff, it will be a get-away from our routine. We have two big meetings a year (this conference and then the convention in the fall) and they are the closest thing we will get to vacations in quite a while. The meetings are quite inspirational ..... lots of patriotism, good clean fun, fellowship with others in our position. They are a real picker-upper.

ALL ~~~ I guess it's unanimous then ..... We will NOT be adopting Maya as the Official Thread Poet ...... *grins*

#129.....My three ducks have flown the coop.....temporarily, I hope.
They were my buddies.......would come right up to the screen room and quack 'Hello' and then plop down for a nap next to my door.

Yesterday, I saw 4 Mallards, and one odd duck, but it wasn't MY ducks.

And wow, they were FAT!!

They looked too heavy to even fly....LOL

I must give credit to kayak for the Reagan quote, I copied it from her home page here.

Maya angelou is so banal and trite.

I like that quote so much I have put it on my profile page ..... that also keeps it handy for pulling out at appropriate times. But these days the idjits on FR are even bashing that quote ...... and Ronald Reagan himself.

I am becoming more appreciative every day that we are stuck over here in Cheeseville. It's turned into a real blessing!!!

Well, it's all of a piece with others we have been disappointed in recently. I am still dumbfounded.

CHANGE OF SUBJECT:

The local TV station is having people call in with weather reports.

"I am at 16th and Moeller and we can hardly see."

"We live over near that trailer park by the airport. We got hail."

"Up here in Noblesville we got an inch of rain."

In other parts of the country do your television stations do this? I somehow feel this is a particularly Hoosier thing. I am thinking someone from NYC tunes in while on a business trip and listens to this and thinks he has dropped into the loony bin.
