Help with Veteran Benefits
23 June, 2002 | brityank

Greetings:

I was asked by a friend about possible benefits regarding assistance for her husband during convalescence from hip-replacement surgery toward the end of July.

Are there any programs or support structures that could provide for transportation or rehab that they could have available to them?

Please answer on the thread, as they will be able to see it here.

Cheers.
Mike.

Ping.

Hope you don't mind; but I know you are all active on the Vet threads.

Thanks.

Disabled American Veterans organization provides free transportation.

I don't their age or health or how long they've been incapacitated, but I wish them the best of luck!

If otherwise healthy, I recommend a stationary bike for exercise during recovery. You can contact a bike shop or exercise equipment store and probably rent one for a month or two. I found it extremely helpful after my hip implant. After the surgery, even a couple of minutes on one a few times a day is useful and speeds recovery time.

Best Wishes,
balrog
