Investigators have determined the anthrax used in the attacks a few months ago was made only within the last couple of years. This concerns officials as it means whomsoever did the deed could do it again easily.

Hot, dry weather across the west is now fueling 17 wildfires.

Congress is considering legislation that would place health warnings on foods with high sodium and/or fat content. They are also considering special taxes on those same products.

Congratulations to /John on the birth of his grandson! Yippety skippety!

We've received some pretty good news here. The good news lite is that I received my passport in the mail yesterday. I had sent it off to get more pages inserted. I was a little concerned that it would be nip and tuck geting it back in time, but it is here and that is done. Check (on my to-do list before August 1)!

The US is funny, or maybe it is the other countries, but all the other countries look for a complete empty page for their stamp; the US just clunks that rubber down any which way.

The other good news is that LD was given a Pell grant for this year which completely covers her books and tuition. Praise the Lord! Now, we need to get her a job and she will then be able to pay most of her way herself. Even if not, she'll be able to contribute substantially. College is now do-able.
