I was just curious and wanting to know what we all do for a living when we're not here scouring the threads of FR. So what do YOU do for a living?

"Just wish we could find a way to break into the iron clad world of liberal/socialist/communist possession of most newspaper writing in this country.....don't you?"
Absolutely. Actually I think the main obstacles standing in the way of this are conservatives themselves. By that I mean that we just need more conservative people to pursue careers in journalism. It's an institution that needs to be changed from within.
Media bias is not the result of a conspiracy. It happens because newsrooms tend to be collections of like-minded individuals who are blind to their own biases. It's really just a form of group-think among people who have been liberals all their lives.
If more conservatives started pursuing journalism careers, it would shake up a lot of this group-think. Part of the problem is that many conservatives (myself included) are interested in financial rewards. Someone with a skillset you'd normally associate with a journalist can make a lot more money in advertising, PR, marketing, market research, etc. than they could as a reporter or editor. I think another culprit is that conservatives just grow up hating the media, and therefore would never consider it as a career option.
Of course this is all easier said than done. That first wave of conservative journalists would take an awful lot of heat from above and institutional opposition. It's not something that will change overnight.

I read and laughed at the back and forth game of 'guessing', pimp (LOL!) comment and all. I put that in white so it didn't act as a spoiler. ;-)

Well, it's nice gig if you can get it. I don't watch soaps either. That would take away from my computer and bonbon time.
