I was just curious and wanting to know what we all do for a living when we're not here scouring the threads of FR. So what do YOU do for a living?

In white?

If you highlight the text and the area right after it, you will see the white text.

Up in NYC recruiters are called 'headhunters'.

LOL! That's right, and I also worked for Vandelay Industries. The high point of my career was reorganizing the Penske file.

I worked as welder for several years, MIG process, also programmed robotic welders. Got tired of welding, went in to computers, worked help desk to get started in the profession (supported NT LAN's along with proprietary software) moved to a shop that needed an NT person, and was willing to teach Unix to an NT person. Worked installing SCO Unix 5.0.6 on Dell 2500 and 2550 systems for several months, was let go, and due to the fact I have bills to pay, I am going to go back and weld in a heavy construction shop. I also work at home part-time doing web design work.

Excellent. When I was in college, I went to the beach and racked my brain all day trying to figure out how I could make it as a beach bum. I ended up dwelling on this for a couple of weeks. I think I figured out how to get my food and water, but not knowing how I would handle medical emergencies and how to take a shower every day finally brought me down to earth.

I graduated and got a good job. Bummer.

I sell midgets with widgets to a hard wood floor.

Sounds like pimping short people for a dance...oh, did I mention I was a delegate for the GOP to our County Assembly? Yup. And lately, volunteer to run supplies up to our firefighters in Colorado. I also like to smear demo[c] rats.

That's the short scoop of my long handle.

I was watching some silly "Best Beaches in the World" thing on the Travel channel a few weeks ago. They had a short interview with this guy with the best job in the world. He lives next to this unbelievably gorgeous beach on this small island in the Carribean. His job? Windsurf instructor. The guy teached tourists how to windsurf.

I will be jealous of him until I retire. :)

Retired USAF officer, as is my wife. Attorney, as is my wife.

We are doing some pro bono for retired vets, but otherwise we are simply enjoying our recent change of venue from the Pentagon to sunny SW Florida.
