Older than dirt.......
We were cleaning out my mother's house and found an old Royal Crown Cola
bottle. In the bottle top was a stopper with a bunch of holes in it. I knew
immediately what it was, but my daughter had no idea. She thought she had
tried to make it a salt shaker or something. I knew it as the bottle that
sat on the end of the ironing board to "sprinkle" clothes with because we
didn't have steam irons.
Man, I am old.

Also when your TV did not work correctly, your dad took the back off of the TV, and of course then, in the good old days, there were nothing but tubes back there....you looked to see which tubes were burned out and not lighting up anymore...then you could just unscrew the burned out bulb and go to a store, tho I am not sure if it was the drug store, or appliance store, and show them the tube, and then they got the new tube for you, you brought it home, and voila, the TV worked again
Nowdays, trying to get a TV fixed is not worth the trouble, with all the computer chips, and whatnot...just easier and probably the same cost, to chuck the whole set, and go out and buy a new one...
