I would go, but I will not hike!

Man has been trying to find improved ways of traveling since the first road was made, and I will not mock their efforts by walking when I can ride!

Bay and I will perhaps carry the lunches...

I think Bay would find it tough going! The Flume is a gorge created by the movement of the glaciers through here a few years ago. You can hike up to the trailhead or take a quick bus ride. From there you go up a trail to the gorge. There are steps built onto the sides of the gorge, and you go up those steps alongside the waterfalls. When you reach the top of the steps, you follow the trail up to the highest point from which you can see some of the mountains around the area, then it's back down the trail to the Main building. The whole hike takes about 2 hours if you're just walking and not stopping. We are usually there at least 3 hours because we stop to look at the falls, the trees, the deep pool, the overlooks, to rest, etc. You don't need any special hiking equipment. We usually just wear our sneakers; something to keep from slipping on damp steps, etc.
