(Nov. 5, 2026 / JNS) Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon pushed back on Wednesday against attempts to blame the Jewish state for the Iran war and rising oil prices.
His remarks, made in an interview with i24News, came after U.S. Vice President JD Vance cited the conflict and U.S.-Israel relations in explaining Republican losses in the midterm elections.
“I think it’s unfortunate that many made the link between rising prices, mainly oil prices, and the situation here in Israel,” Danon said.
“The decision to attack Iran was the decision of the United States. It wasn’t our decision,” he said. Jerusalem supported the U.S. effort, he added, and “we think it was the right decision.”
“It’s very easy to always blame Israel for everything, but that is not the case,” Danon said.

Israel will tolerate no criticism.
Technically, the US made the decision. But it’s bizarre to ignore the role that Israel played in persuading Trump. This is a legalistic answer that is stupefying.
Oil prices are high due to US action in Hormuz. Trump started and controlled that action. Yes, Israel supported it, Netanyahu gladly supported it.
Trying to twist facts is common on the other side. It doesn’t make our side look good to do it.
Not everyone is as stupid as the Democrats think. During the Biden years I paid over $7 a hallon because the Democrats shut down 4 refineries and at least 3 pipelines then bought oil from the arabs. Under Trump i’m paying $3.39, just think of all of the stupid people who voted to double their gas prices.
Think lower prices are on the horizon, look at California.

This is Trumps all the way. Other than initial bombing from Israel it has all been US policy. Trump had a half-assed policy and it has not worked.
IRGC are not good ppl. They’ve killed millions, including thousands of Americans since 1979. Maybe you should defend Pol Pot too. He was Green and anti-Western too.
Supply destruction is why oil went up. Oil and gas will come back down when war-damaged production in RUS and IRN get repaired and back online in spring ‘27. The Dems will probably take credit for it I’m sure.
Why would the yogurt manufacturer need to respond to this?
The US doesn’t buy hardly any petroleum products from Israel. Matter of fact we sell them oil and refined products such as military jet fuel. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration and Trading Economics, mineral fuels and oils make up only a tiny fraction of total U.S. imports from Israel (around $133 million in 2025), consisting largely of minor chemical or refined petroleum products rather than Israel exporting crude oil to the U.S.
So here we are again, it’s Trump’s fault the price of gasoline is so high.
Top Sources of U.S. Petroleum Imports
• Canada: Supplies roughly 57% to 60% of total U.S. crude oil and petroleum imports (making it by far the largest single supplier).
• Mexico: Accounts for about 6% to 7% of U.S. imports.
• Saudi Arabia: Provides roughly 4% to 7% of imports as the largest OPEC supplier from the Persian Gulf region.
• Other Key Suppliers: Includes Iraq, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Nigeria, Argentina, and Venezuela. And the only countries on that list not in South America are Nigeria and
Saudi.
U.S. purchases of Nigerian crude oil have dropped significantly due to high domestic U.S. shale production and shifting trade dynamics. In the first eight months of 2026, U.S. crude imports from Nigeria fell to 14.01 million barrels (valued at around $1.25 billion), down sharply from 33.23 million barrels during the same period in 2025. The U.S. has actually become a net exporter of crude oil to Nigeria, driven by demand from Nigeria’s massive Dangote Refinery which imports U.S. crude to supplement its processing needs.
In 2025, Saudi Arabia ranked as the 3rd-largest supplier of U.S. oil imports, providing about 326,000 barrels per day (bpd), a small fraction of total U.S. consumption. Following shipping disruptions and conflicts in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, U.S. imports of Saudi crude dropped to zero in July 2026 for the first time in decades.
So how can the small amount of oil be coming from the middle east that doesn’t amount to anything be a cause of a war that doesn’t exist anyway. Different rules when it is not declared a war by congress. It is called a military strike, unilateral military action, or an executive military action. It’called the War powers act and was written in 1973. It has been used by other than Trump by Ronald Reagan’s deployment of troops to El Salvador in 1981, the continued bombing of Kosovo during Bill Clinton’s administration in 1999, and military action initiated against Libya by Barack Obama in 2011. The Bush family worked with congress with the knowledge they held the WPA capacity and were in Panama (1989), Persian Gulf War (1990–1991), Afghanistan (2001), Iraq War (2002), and finally Iran.

I spent months verbally explaining the major gasoline price drops during the Trump first and second terms.
One picture is worth a thousand dollars at the gas station!
If oil is $20.00 a barrel the prices of gas won’t drop it’s a gouge game anyway.
Prices across the country is what we want to charge deal with it.
Now do that in constant dollars and then some reality comes out.
