Did Tucker Carlson Warn Trump that going to war with Iran was a bad Idea.

there was a story sometime back that before trump bombed Iran, he consulted with Tucker Carlson as to the wisdom of the decision. Tucker said it was a terrible mistake to do so. Trump ignored him so Tucker turned on Trump. Is this story true?

Thought for 22s Yes, the core of the story is true for the 2026 U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran (which began with strikes around February 28), though some details rest on Tucker Carlson’s accounts and journalistic reporting.Aol

Carlson (a longtime informal adviser and 2024 convention speaker for Trump) met with Trump multiple times in the Oval Office in the run-up to the strikes. He argued strongly against attacking Iran, warning of risks to U.S. forces, energy prices, Arab partners, and the broader “America First” agenda. He framed it as driven more by Israeli/Netanyahu interests (regional hegemony, weakening Gulf states, reducing the U.S. footprint) than by U.S. national interests or Iran’s nuclear program.Aol

Reporting (including from New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, drawing on extensive sourcing for their book Regime Change) confirms Carlson repeatedly pressed this case. Trump had earlier told Carlson (and Elon Musk) something along the lines of “We’re not doing that” when warned that others wanted war with Iran. A couple of weeks before the strikes, Trump also tried to reassure Carlson by phone that it would be okay. The Guardian

Carlson has described one private Oval Office conversation (days before the war, after he had returned from a trip that included seeing the U.S. ambassador in Israel) in which he laid out his arguments. According to him, Trump acknowledged the points (“Yes, you’re right”) but then said words to the effect of “But in the end, we all die anyway, so it doesn’t matter.” Carlson has called this response nihilistic and shocking. This specific quote is Carlson’s recollection; the White House has not confirmed or denied it in detail, and fact-checkers like Snopes have noted the lack of independent corroboration beyond his account.Snopes

Trump proceeded with the campaign anyway. Carlson subsequently turned sharply against him, publicly calling the Iran war Trump’s single biggest mistake, saying he felt betrayed, criticizing the decision as contrary to campaign promises of no new wars, and at times arguing that Trump should have been removed from office (including over later nuclear-related threats). This was a major public break after years of alignment.Jpost

Context and caveats There is a related but distinct 2019 episode during Trump’s first term (after Iran shot down a U.S. drone). Carlson privately urged restraint; Trump called off a planned strike at the last minute. Carlson praised that decision rather than turning against Trump.Web.archive The 2026 version matches the story you described more closely: consultation + strong advice that it was a mistake + decision to proceed + subsequent break. Much of the private dialogue comes from Carlson’s later interviews (e.g., NPR) and from reporting based on sources inside and around the administration. It has not been independently verified in real time by official records or by Trump’s direct public confirmation of the exact exchanges. In short, the broad narrative is well-supported by contemporary reporting and Carlson’s own detailed public accounts: he was consulted, argued against the strikes as a serious error, Trump went ahead, and the relationship deteriorated sharply afterward.

Let’s say Trump did nothing and Iran got their nuclear weapons. Would you all blame Trump for not doing anything?

It was fun watching all the clips of Tucker Carlson telling lies and then claiming he didn’t say that. He has zero credibility.

At this point, I am for giving Iran the damn things as long as they agree to take out Detroit, LA, San Fran and NYC. We are doomed anyway, may as well go out in a bang rather than the slow drip of islamification.

Sounds like you gotta let them launch one before you can do anything. Israel is closer to Iran. Israel has nukes and would have dealt with it first. We’ll always be the bad guys until the SHTF.

I’m glad we show titles, for like anything with science fiction, I pass over Tucker Carlson posts. Since you don’t know that I do this, unless I tell you, now you know. I don’t care what Tucker Carlson says.

Sometimes necessary actions are not popular. If gas was $2.50 per gallon the Dems would likely still have won the midterms.

Its not like we don’t watch this move back and forth every two years. We all knew it would probably happen.

Trump is the President. He needs to run the country and keep us safe not stick his finger in the wind before making tough decisions.

Of course not. Iran is going to get nuclear weapons (now), it is not within the power of the US to stop it at an acceptable cost, and the danger that it poses to the US given the extremely adverse consequences to Iran of first use against the US is, in my opinion, minimal.

Unless you believe that the US retaliation turning Iran into a radioactive wasteland would cause the Hidden Imam to crawl out of the well in Qom (which I do not believe), you shouldn't be worried about it either.

The sheer number of people on the inside jumping off the trump train should have concerned more people.

If someone is going in a successful direction, people would be fighting to get onboard that train. Reagan is a good example of coattails.

Everyone would have been happy with two weeks of bombing to destroy Iran’s nuclear program.

What killed the GOP was the following 8 months of dithering over what to do next.

Repeatedly announcing deals that didn’t happen and then promising massive attacks that never occur.

I was okay with the bombing he did the July before. We were told that set the program back years. I am doubtful Iran was that close to a useable nuke. I am more doubtful that they could have a delivery system that would threaten a U.S. territory.

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4262726/posts Carlson’s interview on Tuesday with alleged historian Darryl Cooper — like his interview in April with Reverend Munther Isaac, referenced in today’s flashbacks — was so much worse than merely glib or incurious.

Carlson chose to interview Cooper, whom he endorsed as “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States” to learn exactly how World War II didn’t happen. According to Cooper — and Carlson nodded along the entire time — Winston Churchill was perhaps “the chief villain of the Second World War” and “primarily responsible for that war becoming what it did.” It’s true that Hitler did not want or expect Britain to fight. He wanted Britain to acquiesce to German dominance of Europe from the Urals to Gibraltar and subsume the UK to Nazi interests. This is all a matter of historical record. Britain could fight or submit — that was Hitler’s choice, not Churchill’s.

FLASHBACK: Carlson chose to interview Isaac to find out how the Jewish State of Israel treats Christians. Isaac is a priest who neither lives nor works in Israel and who uses the loaded phrase “Occupied Palestine” as his location on his Twitter/X profile. He is a Palestinian Christian from Palestinian-controlled Bethlehem, where Christian ministers serve at the mercy of the Palestinian Authority.

Recently, Carlson has repeatedly taken to praising sharia law and suggesting Islam and its totalitarian legal code offer an inspiring moral clarity in contrast with today’s Western decadence. He has visited virtually seemingly every country in the Arab world, produced propaganda films for a few of them, and even announced his attention to buy a house a Qatar. He has called Hamas not a jihadist but a political organization, said he’d apologize to the family of Osama bin Laden, and has severely downplayed the Americans who have been killed in recent decades by Islamism. And earlier this week, the eponymous Tucker Carlson Network, in a seemingly earnest post better suited for a satirical Babylon Bee headline, offered this cherry on top: “Muslims love Jesus.”

MTG Meets With CCP-Linked Group Code Pink On Way Out Door

Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene appears to be embracing a feminist left-wing activist group with alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the final weeks of her House term.

Greene on Wednesday met with members of Code Pink, whose co-founder Medea Benjamin praised the outgoing congresswoman as a “strong anti war voice” in Congress. Benjamin’s group took credit for crashing a D.C. dinner in September where protestors got within feet of President Donald Trump and shouted he “is the Hitler of our time.”

“I have enjoyed a friendship with Medea for a few years now even though politics says that’s not allowed,” Greene continued. “I’ve learned to find bridges with others and that’s how we all win and ultimately leads to peace.”

Lone Republican becomes only lawmaker to vote against crackdown on human organ trafficking (Massie)
A bill aimed at cracking down on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its practice of forced organ harvesting passed with overwhelming support on Wednesday – though one House lawmaker voted against it. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., was the lone Republican to oppose the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act, which passed 406-1. “It’s just another example of us trying to stick our nose in another country’s business and write their laws,” Massie told Fox News Digital after the vote. “And at the end of the day, they’re gonna do what they’re gonna do, and it’s just sort of a virtue signal over here.”
...
But his pushback is also notable now given his status as an open critic of Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and at times, of President Donald Trump. The bill was introduced by Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., and would authorize the Secretary of State to deny U.S. passports and visitor visas to people involved in organ trafficking circles. It would also call for sanctions on entities and individuals found to have participated in the gruesome illicit industry.

‘Mofo...in the White House’: Jasmine Crockett attacks Trump, praises Massie in anti-Iran strike rant ‘There’s only one Republican that I know I can count on for sure doing the right thing,’ Rep Crockett says in a new video
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, launched another tirade against President Donald Trump over the weekend, while offering rare praise for one of her House GOP colleagues who is currently at odds with the commander in chief. The Democratic firebrand took to Instagram Live late Saturday to criticize Trump’s strikes on Iran, while giving a “shout out” to Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., over his bipartisan resolution to rein in the president’s ability to conduct such operations. “So long story short, for those of you that are unaware, the mofo that resides in the White House has unilaterally, in my estimation, declared war,” Crockett said in the video.

Massie bucks GOP leadership again on Adam Schiff censure vote, draws conservative ire
Conservatives are conveying anger with northern Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie over his vote to oppose a resolution censuring California Rep. Adam Schiff, a favorite boogeyman of Republicans. Massie joined 19 other House Republicans in defecting from party leadership from condemning Schiff for championing the investigatory onslaught against former President Donald Trump. Combined with unanimous Democratic opposition, the measure failed, surprising even Schiff. The libertarian-leaning Massie claimed the resolution was unconstitutional for a clause that instructed Schiff should be fined $16 million if the House Ethics Committee found he “lied, made representations and abused sensitive information.” “Allowing a majority of Congress to take $16 million (92 years of pay) from any member of Congress is shortsighted,” Massie tweeted again of the Wednesday evening vote. “Can we not imagine a time when this precedent would be used against conservatives? Fortunately it failed.” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, a Florida freshman, said Massie was “making misrepresentations about the bill” she authored. A band of pro-Trump political figures went even further, casting doubts about Massie’s reasoning and calling for his defeat. Massie has endorsed Trump rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. “Not only is he being duplicitous, partisan and moronic about his choice – he’s straight up lying about the Constitution to achieve his political end goals. Sick,” wrote Raheem Kassam, a British political activist and editor in chief of The National Pulse.
