California Rep. Ro Khanna boasted about return of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) after historic Democratic victories across the country Tuesday — while a high-profile wealth tax measure he championed looked headed for defeat at the ballot box.
“Tonight, DEI is back as America celebrated diversity and inclusion,” the progressive Silicon Valley congressman bizarrely said in a video posted to X as election results rolled in on Election Night.
“Likely three Black governors: the first Latina governor in Texas, the first Muslim American senator, the first gay senator. I love this America tonight,” Khanna added.
His celebration came as the contentious “billionaire tax” Khanna championed appeared likely to be rejected by California voters. Amid the uncertain fate of Proposition 40, he vowed that the progressive fight to tax the uber rich was far from over.
“I’m proud of our efforts wherever we end up,” Khanna said, according to SFGate. “I am going to be right there, first in line supporting this in the next election cycle if it doesn’t pass this one.”
With about 60% of ballots counted Wednesday morning, Californians appear poised to shoot down Prop. 40, a one-time 5% wealth tax on billionaires, according to the Associated Press.
The “No” campaign held a lead with 55.6% (4,268,499 votes) against 44.4% (3,411,323 votes) for “Yes,” with over 7.6 million ballots counted so far.

I just saw him saying that on television. He looked absolutely childish and foolish.

A lot of that going around. Idiocracy was a documentary.
Only 60 percent of the ballots counted. Pathetic. It’s California.
Perhaps those who moved to Texas should now move back? LMAO
Oh, yeah. And lower gas prices! Woo hoo!
Is this what people voted for last night, DEI, men in women’s locker rooms, open borders, abolishing ICE, police, prisons, guns, everything.
American freak show.
According to the polls.
Remember the old lesson, ain’t so much a matter of who votes but more of who counts the votes.
Now, as to be clear here, I’m absolutely not disregarding the possibility that majority of population really could have gotten this dumb.
Oh Gawd.....
Is talarico gay?
