Poll Says Americans Don't Trust Polls
notthebee.com ^ | Nov. 3, 2026

Only 25% of Americans said political surveys correctly estimate votes, according to a new POLITICO Poll, conducted by PF Global. The result reveals that a significant portion of the public lacks faith in the industry as it contends with accusations of consistently failing to reach Republican voters.

"Failing" to reach? Or just, you know, intentionally not trying to reach?

This mistrust, of course, isn't new.

Roughly one in four respondents say that polls showing a blue wave coming in November are wrong, and they expect Republicans to win key races. And 41% of Americans — including voters of both parties — either say polls tend to underestimate Democrats or that they tend to underestimate Republicans.

There have been some high-profile blunders: Polls have missed the mark throughout the Trump era. This cycle alone, surveys in Democratic primaries incorrectly predicted that progressive Francesca Hong would win the race for Wisconsin governor and that Abdul El-Sayed — who did become the Democrats' Michigan Senate nominee — would win by a much wider margin than the 1 percentage point victory he eked out.

- It's almost as if the polls are a one-sided operation designed to manipulate public perception. But that couldn't be, could it?"

-

I've been saying the exact same thing since President Trump’s first term.

I trust my iPhone informing me that the caller is spam or doesn’t have a name, more than any pollster that might get through to me. Eventually pollsters will be replaced with thought readers whose trust will be required.

It would be nice if all the polls were proven to be off by about 8-10 points.

AtlasIntel (Atlas Polls) was among the most accurate pollsters of the 2024 election—often ranked #1 or near the top across independent evaluations.

I pray this is fake....but add the DNC/CPUSA voter fraud, it's not looking good for the good guys. POTUS remarks Monday seem to validate these polls.

If this is accurate, the US deserves to be in the ash heap of history, which is exactly where it will go.

But it can only happen if patriots fail to vote.

Today is the day to do a death-defying act: vote out the culture of death.

I’ve always thought of it as lefty pollsters (most of them) trying to discourage Republicans from voting - why bother, the Democrat is ahead and going to win, according to all of their latest polls.

I well remember Hillary well ahead in all of the polls in 2016 and Kamala Harris ahead in at least five of the seven swing states, if not all of them, in the days before the 2024 election - Trump took all of the swing states, defying all the polling.

I think there is a huge, majority of Republicans out who are either never polled or refuse to answer pollsters - do not trust them and with good reason.

IMO: FOR A VERY LONG TIME—I HAVE FELT THAT IF DEMS ARE PAYING FOR THE POLL, THE POLLING COMPANY WANTS TO KEEP THE DEMS HAPPY-—SO THEY KEEP PUTTING OUT FAKE POLLS SHOWING THE DEMS ARE LEADING.

SAME FOR REP’S.

THE POLLING COMPANIES ARE TOTAL WHORES.

I have come to the conclusion that lying to pollsters does not violate the 9th commandment, but is an obligation.

Remember when ‘the polls’ said HilLIARy had a 95% chance of winning?

That was funny.

In the past few weeks I’ve had at least a half dozen texts asking me to participate in whatever poll they are running.

I flagged them all as spam and deleted every single one without a response.

Walking out of our voting precinct right after voting for President Trump the first time there were several pollsters waiting to ask people that had just voted questions.

One engaged my wife and I and wanted to ask us questions.....our answer was “no thank you”.

Interesting - I’ve never been polled - I do not have a land line and do not answer calls I do not recognize on my cell phone.

I believe a lot of Republicans do not answer polls, or are never polled:

“President Donald Trump asked his South Carolina rally crowd on October 29, 2026, to raise their hands if they had ever been polled. Very few attendees—reportedly around a dozen—raised their hands.”

“Mike Johnson repeatedly asked rally crowds to raise their hands if they had answered a political poll in the last six months, consistently reporting that almost no one responded.”
