That’s what TEXANS used to believe. And many of us, hopefully most of us, still do. But I’ll bet my last bottom dollar that James Talarico and his Texas Democrats don’t believe it.
The question that forms the title of this article is absolutely ridiculous, of course — ridiculous to think that great men like Crockett, Bowie, William Travis, Almaron Dickenson, and approximately 180 other men, who fought and died for freedom against a corrupt military dictatorship from a country that’s now trying to overrun Texas again…it is impossible to think that such men would have given their lives for a…traitor…like James Talarico.
I’m a native Texan, and I’m absolutely appalled — and ashamed — that my home state even nominated a bottom-feeder like Talarico, much less might make him a leader in the highest political body in the United States. The thought makes me want to puke.

Sad to think that so many kids in grade school used to know details of American history that filled one with pride. Biographies of great Americans used to be a staple in books, films, TV, and music. But nowadays the schools just teach that America is the problem and white men are to blame for all the bad things in the world.

My ideal scenario. Texas SECEDES from the US leaving behind 49 states with GOP majorities in both houses of congress. Texas then becomes the conduit for all our policies regarding immigration and any other subject that can fast forward policies of the other 49. Their legislature then returns to one of the 50 when the table is cleared.
Secession would be legal if one studies it’s history.

Some might have called him “Davy” to feign familiarity but Crockett always used his given name, David.
He preferred to be called Crockett, or Colonel.
