Whether Paxton wins the senate race or not, I'll be writing my current senator John Cornyn to express my disgust with his recent stances on the election, and his long-recognized treachery toward his Party.
They say you should keep such letters polite and to a specific point. How firm should this rule be on an outgoing senator like Cornyn?
My rage toward him is bottomless.

Applause and kudos.
Write it with all the vitriol you want to express. Submit the letter to an AI (ChatGPT, etc.), and ask it to rewrite the letter more elegantly. Read the revision, and change anything AI gets wrong. Send the letter, but also make it public on the SMS of your choice.
Write it...but don’t send it.
There is a special level in Hell for people like Cornyn, Bush, Tillis, Northam, and other sour grapes Republicans.
Most sour grapes of all?
Jeb Bush
Man ya know he hates the Donalds guts.
This is probably the safest way to go.
Thank you. I’m not Texan but he has been an embarrassment.
Cornyn’s strained relationship and public/private
frictions with Trump stem from several key factors:
• Policy Disagreements: Cornyn has privately and sometimes publicly disagreed with Trump on issues such as trade agreements with China, tariffs, border security approaches, and federal budget deficits.
• Lack of Personal Alignment/Chaos: Following his defeat in the May 2026 Texas Republican Senate primary—where Trump endorsed state Attorney General Ken Paxton over Cornyn—Cornyn remarked that Trump “seems to revel in chaos” and noted that they no longer spoke regularly.
• Institutional Pushback: After losing his Senate seat, Cornyn adopted a more defiant posture toward the Trump administration, using his remaining time in office to block or challenge certain Trump-backed administrative and judicial nominees over policy and funding disputes.
Despite these friction points, Cornyn historically maintained a high legislative voting alignment with Trump during his Senate career, though tensions escalated sharply around the 2026 primary election.
Who???
Probably stroked out when he heard about the Stevens endorsement of Rogers.
Got Tillis told off good and proper in an email. Have doubts if he ever saw it though. They’re well-protected by their staff.
What you say resonates with a lot of Texans.
He was duplicitous in a lot of other critical issues throughout his political career, so much so that he only earned 68% rating on the Heritage Action political scorecard. That was likely being very generous.

As long as you don’t threaten him or his, let ‘er rip! However, if you intend to put it on social media, don’t give an occasion for him to sue you for libel or slander.
In other words, he showed his middle school mean girl side. (Feel free to use that in your letter; I don’t think that would constitute libel).
Following his primary defeat, Trump and Paxton accused Cornyn of actively sabotaging the Republican majority by refusing to support Paxton in the general election and allegedly making private comments undermining Paxton’s campaign against Democrat James Talarico.
Cornyn’s defenders reject the “sabotage” narrative entirely, pointing to a highly consistent, tangible conservative record built over decades in Washington:
Proponents emphasize that Cornyn voted in alignment with Trump’s policy positions over 90% to 99% of the time. He consistently supported funding for the southern border wall, voted for the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and voted against key Biden administration policies.
As a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Cornyn was instrumental in the confirmation of hundreds of conservative judges, including the three Supreme Court justices appointed during Trump’s first term.
Allies view Cornyn’s occasional willingness to negotiate across the aisle not as sabotage, but as effective governing. They argue that the 2022 gun reform legislation he shepherded focused strictly on school safety and mental health funding while deliberately maintaining a “red line” that protected the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.
Ultimately, while populists view Cornyn’s institutionalist style and past criticisms of Donald Trump as a betrayal of the conservative movement, traditional conservatives view him as a highly effective party loyalist who delivered major conservative legislative and judicial victories.
You now do GOPee AI impersonations?
We just provide information.....doesnt mean we agree with it.
