After a full day of silence, Tusk finally spoke for five minutes. If you took a shot every time he said "rule of law," you'd be on your eighth before he got to the Russian bots.
His main points:
🔸️The court built by PiS "is not a real court," and Nawrocki and PiS blocked every attempt to fix it.
🔸️His judges were "legally elected" and were "attacked," while the police were there to "protect the court from the attackers."
🔸️"In a state governed by the rule of law, a judge, even a petite woman, does not back down before an aggressive thug." That's a dig at Nawrocki.
🔸️"In a state governed by the rule of law, a politician cannot enter a court and give orders or intimidate judges, even if he is the president."
Then he explained the whole crisis with a story: a thief snatches an old lady's handbag, and when he's caught, he screams that he's the victim.
And then, right on schedule:
"It is no accident that they find support around the world among pro-Russian forces. Today in this conflict they are benefiting from the support of an army of Russian bots on the internet. They have even received public compliments from the Kremlin's chief ideologue."
In Tusk's version, the Supreme Court, the President and two of his own diplomats are a Russian influence operation. The riot police are the rule of law."

Imagine if Democrats won Congress, declared the Supreme Court didn’t count anymore, ignored its rulings for 3 years, and then, a year before the next election, picked 8 new justices of their own, including a man their leader called his “right-hand man,” and when the Republican president refused to swear them in, they swore themselves in and mailed him the paperwork, and when the Chief Justice said that wasn’t legal and wouldn’t seat them, they waited for a Friday night when the president was on a plane to Africa and had federal security officers who answer to a Democratic cabinet member walk 7 of them into the court through a back gate connected to the Democratic leader’s own offices, where one of them announced she had “suspended” the Chief Justice, a move that even a law professor who openly can’t stand him said had no legal basis, and then riot police blocked the Chief Justice from entering his own court, the court’s website was taken over, the Attorney General moved that same night to strip his immunity so he could be prosecuted, the president had to turn his plane around mid-flight to come home, and the same people who spent years lecturing everyone about respecting the courts went online to say this was the rule of law, that it was painful, and that there was “no other way,” which is roughly where Poland is tonight.”

You can tell they know this is unpopular when their goto argument is “If you are against Tusk you are Putin”.
I’ve been a little out of touch. Is Poland in any sense a color revolution assisted by the Deep State CIA?
It seems to me slightly possible that the (secret) US government both started this thing and also assisted in ending this thing (Trump). But I haven’t seen discussion of this.
Treat Poland’s current leadership like Iran. Threat financial Armageddon if they continue. Pull all troops and agreements from Polish soil, until the rule of law is upheld. Do the same thing with Brazil.
My wife does not often use foul language, but when she gets really worked up, it's a stream of declined Polish imprecations with trilled r's.
They had Tusk's speech on TV and all I could hear was a stream of trilled r's.
She's not an avid PiS enthusiast either, but Tusk's mendacity and that of Civic Platform and the EU remind her of Communist Poland. It just sticks in her craw. Same with the MSM and the Dems here.
