As some of you may know, I live in Petersburg, AK. I’ve met Decoy Dan, the former music teacher at our K-12 school, once but I don’t really know him. Even though this is a very small town he’s just not in my circle of friends.

Since the news broke the town has been invaded by reporters from major news outlets. They must have parachuted in because there are only two commercial flights a day passing through our airport and the only other way to get here is by boat. The radio station was contacted by the BBC. The local news reporters (Both of them, one from the newspaper and one from the radio station), have been hunted down and harassed for information.

There is none.

Decoy Dan has disappeared.

Now, as it happens, this week is the annual fundraiser/membership drive/potluck at KFSK Petersburg, our local NPR affiliate radio station and the Lovely and Talented Mrs. C is working the phone bank along with other volunteers from the community. She has spent the past week, in the “Belly of the Beast” so to speak. (We have a long history with KFSK Fish Radio that I won’t go into here) Here’s the consensus among the station staff and volunteers:

It’s all a plot by Trump and his sycophants to steal the Alaska Senate election. It’s being financed by Elon Musk who needs to be in prison...for being too rich.

There are people here who know the truth. I just don’t travel in that circle. Mrs. C is more gregarious. Perhaps she’ll have more for us this evening.

I’m not a huge fan of the federal deprivation of rights crime. Still, there’s a colorable case and I hope the feds charge him. These libs have so much fun with their a-hole antics. We’ll see how much fun it is when he gets bankrupted and his life ruined by the process. I doubt his Democrat buddies will come to his aid, either. And I won’t care if he spends a single day in jail; it’s sufficient to me that the process serve as the punishment

The NYT report said it relied on 12 sources, text messages and documents that allegedly showed members of Peltola's campaign, lawyers for Peltola and senior aides at Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee contributed to pushing Dan J. Sullivan, a Republican on Alaska's four-way ballot, to run.

People need to understand that the Alaska panhandle (where Petersburg is), is considered north Seattle to those of us who live on the Kenai Peninsula. Same politics. Maybe that puts this post by chuckster more into perspective.

Trump and Musk cooked up the whole thing. Mary, the pure and virtuous, knew nothing. Dan, the Music teacher (Ret.) is a nice guy who would never do anything nefarious or dishonest.

Sadly I agree with you. Honest people knew from the start it was a scam. But most statement from leftists are similar. These people won’t believe the truth if it slaps them in the face.

Trump engages in the most nefarious and scoundrelly plots imaginable. For example, a few years ago he hired a sniper to take a shot at him during a rally just so he could gain sympathy and votes. They plotted to miss him by 3 cms and even though the bullet killed a spectator, Trump was satisfied his trick worked.

Now we see him plotting to hire another Dan Sullivan in Alaska just to confuse the voters and give him the chance to object to the election. Trump’s close friends at the NYT told this made-up story about Mary P.’s campaign hiring this guy but we know better. Trump is truly diabolical.
