A grand jury declined to indict January 6 star witness Cassidy Hutchinson, the Washington Post reported.

Breaking news: A grand jury rejected the DOJ’s attempt to indict former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson for the account she gave lawmakers of President Trump’s actions during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to people familiar with the matter. https://t.co/kwOJ22r1gG

The Justice Department sought to indict January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson for lying to Congress.

Earlier this year it was reported that the DOJ launched an investigation into Hutchinson.

The DOJ’s Civil Rights Division presented evidence to a federal grand jury last week. Hutchinson has not been subpoenaed yet.

Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon is spearheading the investigation.

Cassidy Hutchinson testified in June 2022 that Trump got into “the beast” after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 with the belief that he would be driven to the Capitol.

According to Hutchinson, who received this information from Tony Ornato, the Assistant Director for the Secret Service, Trump grew angry after he was informed that he was being driven back to the West Wing.

According to Ornato, Trump shouted, “I’m the f*cking president! Take me up to the Capitol now!”

DC needs to be banned from forming Juries at all. There simply is no possibility of finding one that is fair and impartial.

Why do all federal cases, that inherently impact all 50 states, end up being held in DC?

Not all Federal cases have to be tried in D.C. But if a crime is charged, the Constitution says the trial must be held in the State or District where the crime was committed. If you lie to Congress, where did the perjury take place?—in D.C. Lie to a judge to get a warrant in D.C. any trial has to be held there. ‘Trespass’ into Congress on January 6, your trial, when it finally comes, will be in D.C.

The dems were very upset that Trump was accused of having documents at Mar A Largo rather than charged with taking them from the White House. A conviction in D.C. would be assured, Florida, not so much.

“There is not a jury in DC that will ever convict a Democrat or acquit a Republican.”

It’s been shown that the locals there are being taught EXACTLY how to behave if on a jury (or grand jury).

But here’s the question, if DC is the capital of the entire US, then shouldn’t juries be picked from the entire country.

Under the Sixth Amendment jurors must be drawn from the state and district in which the alleged crime took place. It’s the same argument that underlies the Yellowstone Zone of Death scenario.

There are crimes of corruption that are successfully prosecuted in D.C.

I guess that old saying about being able to indict a ham sandwich now requires a qualifier: “except in Washington DC if the subject is a Democrat.”

The Congress can limit the power of the lower courts they create, but not the Supreme court, which basically chooses its own rules of engagement.

For instance the Congress could, if it wanted to, forbid any lower courts on ruling one way or another on abortion or environment. But they never have nor ever will.

Conversely, they could create a court whose sole purpose is to rule on those subjects.

Congress could ‘speed up’ the process by increasing the number of judges on the lower courts or by having the deliver their decisions in ten days or less. But that won’t happen either.

Any crime committed in D.C. has to be tried in D.C. Since D.C. votes +90% democrat, any prosecution of a dem is pretty much pointless, unless it is along the lines of ‘you can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride’.

We HAVE to stop walking into the Democrats' traps. We largely have stopped, which is a good sign that we're learning.

The Congress can do that. The Constitution allows that:

Article III

Section 2 Paragraph 3:

The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.

“...but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.”

Washington, DC is NOT A STATE......................

Congress can change the location for trials committed in DC if they want.
