ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was found guilty of robbery and grand theft after taking more than $760,000 in jewelry from an Orlando store and using force against an employee while trying to escape, prosecutors said.
Jaythan Gilder was convicted after a trial involving the February 2025 robbery at the Tiffany & Co. store at the Mall at Millenia, State Attorney Monique Worrell’s office said.
Prosecutors said Gilder posed as a representative negotiating a jewelry purchase on behalf of a professional basketball player before grabbing the merchandise.
After his arrest, he swallowed the stolen earrings in an attempt to hide the evidence, according to the release.

Ah, the implications of high-end brands chasing thug culture influencers. The Tiffany rep probably thought nothing of letting this guy, who looks like a criminal, into the store and letting him hold a pair of $760,000 earrings because he claimed that he represented an NBA player. Why not? He looks the part. Tiffay's, whose snooty reps would not buzz a normal person in the door or even speak to a normal person in the store if they deigned to let them in, fall all over themselves to service this guy. Wouldn't it be great to get their jewelry or watches on this NBA player or his girlfriend?

I’m smiling in how they determined he had swallowd them. It takes a special type of xray even to see what makes them up in the body as they are not normally seeable in xray. And with that they don’t see the stone but what makes it up.
