WASHINGTON — Liberal Justice Elena Kagan sharply criticized the Supreme Court’s conservative majority Tuesday, saying it undermined democracy in a series of rulings, including several that have prompted a new wave of legislative map-drawing that has increasingly eliminated competitive districts.

Imagen that, a Justice who rules on a Constitution of a Republic thinking that it's a mob ruled democracy.

End the concerns on gerrymandering. Repeal the apportionment act of 1929. Assign 100,000 population per seat. We have the technology to eliminate current Congressional traditions that have created a consolidation of power in DC. I imagine lobbyists would hate it and it would further segregate even urban areas politically. It would resemble more of the map by county representation we see between red/blue across the country

Yes, and they seem to prefer the form of “democracy” where unelected bureaucrats can tell citizens how to raise their kids, manage their health, buy their insurance, select their car, and oh let’s not forget - just shut up and be removed from social media or denied banking services if they hold different beliefs.

That’s what they mean when they say “OUR democracy”.

Their democracy is synonymous with fascism.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer must've had Elena Kagan in mind whe he said the following.....

Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed- in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

Kagan is a hyperactive judicial activist. Her rulings are based on left wing activism and not constitutional law. She does not give one good damn about the constitution. She really was not a good judicial scholar prior to the Supreme Court. She is even less now. She is worthy only of supreme contempt but not The Supreme Court. She is on the Supreme Court because she is a judicial activist. If one looks at her record it is quite impressive the positions she has held. Per Wiki Before her appointment, Kagan was the first woman to serve as the Solicitor General of the United States under President Obama Wikipedia . She had also been a professor at Harvard Law School and served in various government roles, including as Associate White House Counsel under President Bill Clinton Each appointment prior to the Supreme Court was by a progressive president and also Harvard. That is all you need to know.

The House was obviously designed by the Founding Fathers to be ordinary citizens to serve for two years and then go HOME. Instead they make a career out of it and have too much power consolidated in one person. Senators were meant to be the professional part of Congress, so to speak, but I doubt they expected them to serve more than the six years they mandated. If they meant either to serve for decades, they wouldn’t have specified any time frame at all.

Kagan didn’t dissent from the order permitting California’s Prop 50 map. Is that because it’s (D)ifferent? What a phony.

Our brilliant forefathers made an error. It should have been 1 term and out. 6 for Senators and 3 for the house. However, it should be like the Senate today and the house and senate should be elected not all at once but on a three-year divided cycle. This ensures continuity but at the same time accountability to the voters each three years.

Dignity and decorum were expected of SCOTUS justices once upon a time. Their opinions were on cases not television.
