Ilhan Omar’s husband spotted for first time since DHS raid – as Trump questions how couple can afford their ‘lovely place in Washington’

Tim Mynett, the husband of embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), was spotted Tuesday for the first time since the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) raided their Washington, DC, home – which President Trump suggested the couple shouldn’t be able to afford.

Mynett, staring straight down at the sidewalk, was snapped walking the family dog – a yellow labrador retriever named Teddy – back to the home where Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents executed a search warrant and removed belongings early Monday morning.

The raid is believed to be part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into the Somalia-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork.

Trump, who has long accused Omar of illegally marrying her brother, took to Truth Social Tuesday to suggest the “Squad” lawmaker may have been involved in “fraudulent activities” — citing the dramatic rise in the congresswoman’s reported net-worth, which she has since dismissed as an accounting discrepancy.

“Why did Ilhan Omar report a Net Worth of up to 30 Million Dollars just a short time ago, and then immediately say, ‘Oh, I made a mistake! It’s really $100,000,’” Trump wrote. “Could it be that her highly paid accountant actually reported the money that was stolen from her fraudulent activities in Minnesota? Would something like that be possible? Do you think the accountant actually gave the right number the first time, 30 Million Dollars, and then she was forced to disavow because she never would have been able to report where that much money came from?

“She must have freaked out when she saw that money!”

Trump also expressed disbelief that Omar and Mynett had the means to live in their Washington house — a four-bedroom, 1,900-square-foot Cape Cod assessed at about $600,000. Property records do not list Omar or Mynett as owners, and the home has been previously listed...

In August 2019, Tim Mynett’s then-wife, physician Dr. Beth Mynett, filed for divorce in Washington, DC, alleging that Tim abandoned their family after confessing to an affair and being in love with U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar. Beth Mynett stated in court documents that Tim separated from her in April 2019 after declaring his romantic involvement with Omar.

In his own court filings, Tim Mynett denied telling his wife he was leaving her for Omar or that he was having an affair. Rep. Ilhan Omar also publicly denied the affair and separation allegations at the time. Following their respective divorces, Rep. Omar and Tim Mynett married in Washington, D.C., on March 11, 2020.
