New York Attorney General Letitia James, the hyper-partisan Democrat who built her career targeting President Trump, is now facing a formal bar ethics complaint for publicly prejudging the “Cornell 7” sexual assault case just days before Governor Kathy Hochul appointed her special prosecutor.
According to the New York Post, the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a Washington, D.C.-based watchdog organization, filed a nine-page bar complaint against James with New York's Attorney Grievance Committee on Friday, October 9.
The complaint accuses James of a clear, incurable conflict of interest and a “flagrant, obvious and therefore shocking” violation of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct after she posted supportive comments about the accuser before any investigation under her authority had even begun.
On September 28, 2026, three days before Hochul’s October 1 executive order naming her special prosecutor, James wrote on X and Facebook:
“What this young woman has been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable. I’m holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her, and to all survivors: you’re not alone. We stand with you.”
Legal ethicist Jack Marshall, whose expert report accompanies the complaint, concluded that James has a “serious and incurable conflict of interest.”
He stated she is “ethically and legally obligated to recuse” as special counsel and must be removed if she refuses. Marshall added that her comments raise “suspicion of a rigged, pre-determined and illicit investigation.”
NLPC counsel Paul Kamenar told the New York Post that James “exhibited a clear bias in favor of Jane Doe’s allegations and against the Chi Phi defendants” and “cannot serve as a special prosecutor in this case.”
He warned she risks the same fate as Fani Willis in the Georgia case against Trump.
The complaint comes as two of the accused former Cornell Chi Phi members, Gillio Lopes and Winston Lee, have already filed court motions seeking to disqualify James.

N.Y. Gov. should remove her.
They are BFFs...................
Leticia James ran on going after and destroying Trump and the NRA. And she did just that.
She should have been disbarred for what she did to Trump.
NY Gov should be removed, too.
Agree..
She’s NY’s tranny Al Sharpton
No doubt tish will rush to comply. You know, since no one is above the law. Even ABW. With ginormous chips on their shoulders. Even after winning life’s lottery.
She’ll make sure them rapin’ honkies get a long prison sentence- after a fair trial in front of a jury of her peers, of course.
I would agree. I just don’t care for this woman & think she needs to find other “less controversial” work, like maybe cleaning out horse barns, or dog poop, some such. My feelings relate to her adversity with our president. What’s she doing, bucking for his job? I would have to think about moving to another country in that case.
I just don’t like this woman & wish she would find other work, like cleaning horse barns or dog poop; something less controversial than what she is doing; always trying to get our president that he is not guilty of. Maybe she could help fill out the seats for the next deportee plane leaving the country.
Sorry for the double post. I did not think the first one went through.
Just leave that wonderful NY City Mayor alone! (/S)
...never will happen, and she will never step down.....
that’s the way the game is played...if Comrade Hochul
removed her, RACISIM...!!!! will all you will hear....
What does flagrant violation mean in lawyer speak? Strongly worded reprimand?
Nasty skank.

More importantly, why give credit to Gateway Pundit (A/K/A “Clickbait Pundit”) when all it did was repackage the original news story published in the NY Post? GP rarely, if ever, publishes original or exclusive content, and its “breaking news” is almost always hours, if not days old. Unless you are a shill or influencer for GP, the honest approach is to link the original source so that it — and not GP - gets the web traffic and resulting revenue it deserves.
To Democrats, this is a resume booster.
