it seems like a great example of how JD Vance tries to be everything to everyone. He enthusiastically supports executing Nidal Hasan for committing the worst crime ever, but he is going to keep himself away from the actual execution.

I still believe the livestream won’t happen.
For 2028, I am OK with either Vance or Rubio, but I increasingly lean toward Rubio. He has achieved some solid accomplishments. And I would love to see Rubio as president when Cuba transitions into a free nation.
If the government is choosing to kill the guy, then the people “responsible” should view it. I agree that this guy’s life is forfeit. I don’t have a problem doing it “in public.” People have the choice to view it or not.
If a person doesn’t think this guy should be killed, then they should take steps to change the government. Honestly, in this case, I don’t think that is a winning argument—as this person gave up his right to live among us when he shot unarmed people.
Another bread circuses for the masses moment.
DeSantis.
I genuinely expect a flop for two reasons. Significant efforts will be made to execute denial of service attacks, and actual interest will overwhelm resources. So a lot of people will complain it didn’t work.
I think it’s dumb because the people it is supposedly intended to deter and intimidate will celebrate his ‘martyrdom’.
It’s basically the opposite of what you should do, unless your goal was to simply incite and inflame more world opinion against the U.S.

December 3. Why wait?
Yes!! Bring back the Games! Either throw him in the arena with lions or have an expert swordsman engage him in a gladiator fight to the death. With juggling midgets afterwards. Pretty scantily clad hostesses serving refreshments to the arena crowd.
If officers of the Armed Forces of the United States were required to wear sidearms while on active duty, this murderer Hasan would not have been able to slaughter those soldiers with impunity, nor would he have survived.
Ex Gang of Eighter Rubio can not be trusted on amnesty and immigration. No sale for me.
Crime has consequences. A good teachable moment. Public is the way to go.

It could happen fast and this could get in the way.

There’s the ‘not my department’ element in JD. Disqualifying?
>It’s basically the opposite of what you should do, unless your goal was to simply incite and inflame more world opinion against the U.S.<
We’ve spent a trillion dollars fighting in the mid east. People have become numb to it. This would be like John Kerry saying ‘bring it on’.
>I think it’s dumb because the people it is supposedly intended to deter and intimidate will celebrate his ‘martyrdom’.<
“He made the other SOB die for HIS country”.

Election coming up-wakaru?
>If officers of the Armed Forces of the United States were required to wear sidearms while on active duty, this murderer Hasan would not have been able to slaughter those soldiers with impunity, nor would he have survived.<
Not really. Officers don’t really mix around enlisteds. Career enlisted are the backbone of the military and there are more of them. I’d be ok with that.
Is stupidity a symptom of bipolar ?
It depends on the definition of “live streamed”. The execution (if it really happens) might be live streamed to military bases only.
And so would be unavailable to the general public.
Not being too enthusiastic about the death penalty is a matter of prudence. Prosecutors who go before juries on death penalty cases are told as much. Even combat soldiers tend to recoil from those who have too much of a taste for blood.
