Secretary of State Marco Rubio furiously shut down media questions about explosive new allegations against U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle on Thursday, while Guilfoyle herself stood nearby as he prepared to leave Athens.
As he stood before reporters, Rubio was pressed over a new Wall Street Journal report alleging Guilfoyle asked Trump donor Eric Deters to cover a $100,000 credit card bill shortly before her Senate confirmation hearing and offered access to administration officials in return.
The secretary of state, however, made clear he had no intention of addressing the report on the tarmac when grilled by reporters, instead expressing frustration at being interrogated on a matter he had not had the chance to examine.
Rubio bristled at questions about WSJ’s Guilfoyle story before departing Greece. “I’m not going to comment.” Video via @ralexdc https://t.co/kkQX1Cpr3E pic.twitter.com/MLy2rcihdJ

“Guys, I’m not playing this game with you, OK?” he said. “You guys write a story and then your editors tell you, ‘make sure you get a comment from him’ on something we haven’t seen. OK? You guys are not going to be our only source of information in the world. I’m sorry to tell you that. And so I want you to understand, no, that’s not the way the process is going to work.”
When a reporter asked how the process would work, Rubio grew more pointed: “Well, first of all, the process doesn’t work like this. We don’t conduct these things at a press conference on a tarmac in a foreign country because you wrote a story or somebody else wrote a story because some source gave it to you. So get that out of your head because that’s never the way it’s gonna work with me.”
He added: “You guys somehow walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it. It’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me. That’s not the way we do it.”

Does not look like there are any mitigating circumstances - convicted by her own words.
I suspect Kimberly is very HIGH MAINTENANCE.
I also suspect the Ambassador appoint by POTUS was to get her FAR AWAY from Don Jr.
fumes?
It’s just a ‘Rat caused affordability issue.
This is our next president.
I question the judgement of any woman that married Gavin Newscum.
Young Donald dodged a bullet.
Look what’s happened to her face since then. Yikes! It’s as bad as Madonna’s.
I read the WSJ piece this morning — and really, it’s pretty simple.
Either the chats are 100% fabricated or there is no excuse and this just ridiculously sleazy and illegal.
It’s not complicated. The chats literally say “gimme money and also, hide it so there is no paper trail”.
I’m hoping he’s on the ballot. VP....who knows. Too bad he and Desantis are from the same state. Maybe DeSantis for Senate or Rubios Sec of State?
Let’s see, Guilfoyle, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem, Darline Graham. What is he Trump thinking?
I guess he gave Guilfoyle that job to get her away from Don Jr., but this new wife sounds worse!
I like Sean Duffy as a potential VP.
Rubio has more experience than JD, plus he’s already Secretary of State. I believe he deserves a promotion out of that position.
You are probably right on both counts.
He's okay...but...Rubio FAR surpasses him.
The fact that he can't decide whether he will run depends on what his wife says...leaves a BIG question mark for me.
So it's a big secret??? Makes no sense. He's VP for cripes sakes.
JD just wants to choose the time he announces. It’s no big deal.
Rubio’s statement doesn’t sound like fuming to me. It’s sounds like disgust for that pack of jackals.
Good point that his wife has to decide! Doesn’t sound like he’s a good decision maker!
