Retired NFL icon Jason Kelce found himself in an embarrassing situation in the broadcast booth during Sunday's matchup between the Washington Commanders and the Indianapolis Colts, prompting an on-air apology to viewers at home.
Kelce joined Dave Pasch and Kurt Warner in the booth for the international fixture, with the Commanders and Colts squaring off in London. It proved to be a rough day for Washington, who lost wide receiver Jaylin Lane and quarterback Marcus Mariota to injury.
Matters deteriorated further when Kelce inadvertently referred to the team as the Redskins, a moniker the organization has been actively distancing itself from. Later in the day, Cris Collinsworth was left in shock after what he saw during Sunday Night Football.
Late in the third quarter, the Colts held a 20-13 lead over the Commanders and were pushing to extend it. A wide pass from Colts quarterback Daniel Jones, intended for Seth McGowan, was broken up by Commanders cornerback Amik Robertson.
Kelce, attending the NFL clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, was impressed by Washington's defensive performance. However, he inadvertently referred to the team by their former name.

Stop being so pusillanimous, Jason.
Cuck.
I still call them the Skins. Eff ‘em.
I’m gettin’ the vapors.
They will always be the Redskins to true NFL Fans. We keep hoping they will return to that.
“Cris Collinsworth was left in shock”
Obvious homo is obvious.
I’ve gotten out of touch since retiring, but a lot of people here were still calling them ‘The Redskins’ long after the name change.
I’m convinced that Collinsworth was the inspiration for Matt McConaughey’s “Wooderson” in Dazed And Confused.
And it’s Cleveland Indians.
Hope the White Sox finish the job tomorrow.
I despise him
Well he is a Gator, so I can’t be too hard on him.
I live in leftist Arlington, VA. I have yet to hear anyone mention “Commanders” — kids included. It’s always ‘Redskins’ or ‘skins’, or, if you bring up those names first, there’s no objection, and usually a comment of agreement.
Liberals referred to it as “The Nation’s Capitol Football Team”, because they didn’t even want to say “Washington”.
I’m just outside of DC, in the Peoples Republic of Maryland and in a majority Black county. I can’t recall that I’ve ever heard anyone call them ‘Commanders’ either. I’ve only heard it on TV.
Listen. Whatever 'activities' Collinsworth participated in in the Locker Room, before, during or after the game...wouldn't shock me in the least! *SMIRK*
I STILL call the 'Brewers' the 'Braves' every once in a great while. And they changed their team name based upon BEER, not some PC crapola.

Who cares?
They were the Redskins for decades.
Their fans are and were fans of the Redskins.
He sounded slightly embarrassed rather than horrified. From the way they talked, it sounded like they had a little better in who would be the first announcer to screw up and call them the Redskins. He lost.
If he had to apologize, he could do it without losing face. He could have said something like “Oops! Paleface make’m boo-boo”.
The Euroweenies are starting to warm to Cuckball.
