It is indisputable that he is. Of course, CNN doesn’t think that’s a good thing.
Did they say it in a positive way?
You can easily argue that Stalin was the most influential Soviet leader of the past century, but they don’t say it in a positive way
President Donald J Trump has been the most decisive and effectual President I’ve seen in my lifetime. I began paying attention to presidential conduct as far back as LBJ when I was a young kid. There is no president in my lifetime, including Ronald Reagan, who I admire greatly, who has done what Donald J Trump has done.
Furthermore, I rate him more highly than almost all Presidents, and in my opinion, his face should be up there on Mount Rushmore.
He is upsetting the governmental “apple cart” in a way that is decades, overdue, and he is making bitter enemies in all aspects, in all parties in the government.
That is how I know that he is on the right track. These people in government wish to keep the status quo, keep the money flowing where it was flowing, letting everybody get their piece of it.
He has come in with both hands and overturned that cart, and that has outraged those people. We were all suckers to one degree or another, believing that government underneath it all, was still serving our purposes. What we neglected to accept for so many years was that the government came to be functioning for its own purposes, to extend its own reach and its own life, regardless of what we did or didn’t want, or how good or bad that was for our nation.
We were wealthy enough to wear. We just didn’t want to lift up that rock and see all the bugs and worms and rotting material underneath it that was representative of the fraud in the waste in our system. We were wealthy enough that we thought we could function, even with all of that going on, as long as we couldn’t see it.
We ignored the fact that there was a considerable amount of illegality, fraud, influence, and money in our elections, and that the illegality, fraud, influence, and money was almost universally leverage by our enemies (and they are now fully out in the open, exemplified by the Democratic Socialists of America as our sworn enemies) to consolidate their hold on power.
Even worse, our own taxpayer money was being funneled through things like USAID back into the pockets of people who hate us and want to destroy this country, and we never ever even blinked and I at that. I know I’m not alone and wondering why, when Donald J Trump regained the presidency in 2024, one of the first places that he went to work on was USAID. I was puzzled. But what was going on there it’s now wholly clear to me, and too many other Americans. That was conduit. The left was using to consolidate their power, to fund their corrupt political campaigns, and to provide money and funds to entities like Antifa and Black Lives Matter to be used against us.
Donald Trump has flaws. Here’s the dirty little secret that we all know if we allow ourselves to look there: WE ALL HAVE FLAWS. ALL OF US. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Does he lie? All humans lie at some point or another. In Trump’s case, he engages less in outright lies, as a grandiose inflation of things he has done, yet which still retain a kernel of truth in them. I have heard it said by Dan Bongino and others that it is because of his roots in the Queens borough of New York, in which that appears to be a regional characteristic. So I keep that in mind.
That said, I, as an American, fully accept these flaws because I am (and I think those of you reading this are as well, if I’m not mistaken) “transactional” in nature. I have heard this term used to describe Donald Trump and the way that he views things, and I fully buy into that. I like working with people that I admire and respect personally, but if it comes to getting something done, the admiration and respect on a personal level, takes a backseat to competency and the ability to get a job done.
I am retired now, but in my working life, I had to work on many projects with people that I initially did not like or respect. And it was often true that these same people reflected that assessment back at me…possibly simply because they detected that I disliked them. I am relatively transparent in that way, and even if I hide it, it comes out on my face.
But I found that when I worked with these people and they produced quality work, got the job done, and did it in the necessary timeframe, regardless of their personal characteristics, I respected those people and even grew to like many of them. And I also found that in these circumstances, that they grew to like and respect me as well. I became good friends with many of these people over time.
And that is because in the end, when it comes to getting a job done, I am…”transactional” in nature.
I have heard the term “transactional” used often to refer to Donald Trump as president and a businessman. That is, he looks at things on a spreadsheet level that need doing, and does transactionally what is needed to get those things done. He often overlooks many other things about those he works with or fights against and is instead focused on the spreadsheet or transactional nature of the business at hand. It is in this way that he can find himself on the same side of people oppose him as long as they get the job done.
But most of all, he fights. He does not seem to care about the political cost. He seems to carefully about getting the job done right, whatever that takes.
I don’t agree with every single thing that Donald Trump says. I don’t agree with his approach on every thing he does. But what I do appreciate most of all, is his full transparency, his total lack of filter, which is both good and bad. I fully accept the bad in his case, because of how much I value the good that he is capable of from my perspective as a conservative.
I believe it is nearly (but not totally) impossible for Donald J Trump to lick his finger and put it in the air, or convene a meeting to determine the correct verbiage of some stance on something or other, in other words, to focus test something. I don’t believe he has a speck of that in his nature.
There was once a movie with the actor Jim Carrey called “Liar, Liar” and the hilarious premise of the movie was a lawyer that for 24 hours, was unable to tell a lie. I sometimes think that when I watch President Trump in front of a gaggle of reporters and he has asked a question, I can see a thought bubble form above his head and then to my astonishment…that is what comes out of his mouth.
I imagine the same kind of analogy with Donald Trump as President: just think of that, a politician, who is unable to parse his text, who has no filter. It provides a degree of transparency that no other president in my lifetime has ever even come close to offering.
I mentioned that I greatly admired Ronald Reagan, and that much is true. But here is the disclaimer:
Ronald Reagan was the right man for 1980.
Donald J. Trump is the right man for 2026.
In the words of Don Corleone, he is a “Wartime Consigliere”. And we need that, because we are in open war with the Left, who has decided that this is the time to take the mask off and show their Socialist/Communist face as seen in the form of the Democratic Socialists of America.
So, in that sense, I am fully invested in a man who does what needs doing, even with his mean tweets, personality which is off-putting even to many of his supporters, and his penchant for applying derogatory names to his real or perceived enemies. I accept all of those “negatives” completely, because we are at war to save our country from both foreign and DOMESTIC enemies, with the focus on the DOMESTIC ones.
We are engaged in a fight to save this country from the creeping Leftism that like an invasive mold, has insinuated itself to the point it does threaten our national life, and has for many years now. He is the first and only President who has pushed back against this. And I value that.
(Disclaimer: To my Southern brethren, you may find my following analogy off-putting and I fully get why, but I hope you will bear with me on this...:)
This country is like the Union during the Civil War who, under the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln, needed a military answer to the superior generals who served the Confederacy. They found that military answer in the form of General Ulysses S. Grant. And as Abraham Lincoln, when confronted with Grant’s purported alcoholism, a serious weakness in any human, said simply of Grant:
“I can’t spare this man. He fights.”
I feel the same about President Donald J. Trump. That man may indeed have his flaws.
But he fights.
Define “influential”.
From Woodrow Wilson to Biden all presidents were “establishment”. Their policies went the way of the establishment. So their policies were not ‘influential’ because they did not change the direction of history.
Within that the Woodrow Wilson era of many Constitutional Amendments, the big government KKK in the White House set the trend towards big government.
LBJ-NIXON were the most influential for our time as they set the framework of state and local government shifting from a focus on what was good for their people, their voters or their taxpayers to ....
What hoops do we have to jump through, what taxes do we need to raise, to get that matching money from Washington. Washington can print and borrow seemingly unlimited amounts of money for every government to spend. State and local government cannot print and borrow unlimited amounts of money.
Trump is different in that he is not the conventional definition of “establishment”... at least not originally.
The more the “new establishment of AI/SI” nestles up to Trump, the more he becomes “establishment”. That has already happened where the war in Hormuz seems to be driven by the military-industrial complex of the “previous establishment”.
I guess CNN knows which way the wind is blowing and is getting ready for the Ellisons. LOL. Liberals are going to go into epic meltdown when CNN starts having Karoline Leavitt as a regular guest and treat her politely.
It is indeed 100% true
We are in the middle of it now, so few people see the big picture.
But Trump is overturning the post WWII “rules based global order.” That system ostensibly had the USA on the top - but in the process, we are ruining our currency, running a financialized economy, creating massive debt, exporting our industry and jobs, fighting wars around the world, etc...
Who exactly benefits from that?
In 25 years, when it’s all in the rear-view mirror, we will only then see it more clearly.
Well said!
May I embellish?
HE FIGHTS FOR AMERICA AND ALL AMERICANS!
Love it. Love him or hate him he always tells you what he is going to do and does it.
The press fought and criticized Reagan over everything while he was in office, even as they realized that Reagan would remain top in American hearts for decades to come.
They same thing is happening with Trump.
More influential than Hitler?
clutch my pearls
CNN kissing the ring to get White House press room access restored...
That'll have a jarring impact on its last few hundred viewers. 😁 Last post before I run some errands.
Wow, rlmorel, fantastic post! I agree with every word!
Wow! Very good post. That there would be a good and timely vanity OP in its own right. I encourage you to post it as such sometime before early voting starts!
~FRegards and Blessings~
Very well said, sir.
Even Biased lying fake news can be right once in a while like a broken clock.......
CNN didn’t say it. A CNN announcer said it. Who? I don’t get CNN and don’t subscribe to X.
I think CNN is just moving a bit toward less bias.
CNN’s hired lots of air-head NEPO brats... the change will clear them out.
Wondering if this is related to the Paramount merger and the Ellison’s
“Paramount patriarch Larry Ellison, one of the richest men in the world, has been a close ally of President Donald Trump, who said last December that “it’s imperative that CNN be sold.” “
