A Florida woman was arrested and accused of leaving her four minor children, including an infant, alone while she went on a weekend cruise, according to police.
The suspect, 29-year-old Nathalie Belizaire, of North Miami Beach, is accused of four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.
Belizaire’s attorney denied the allegations.
According to North Miami Beach police, the father of one of Belizaire’s children, who is 2 months old, had seen on a post on her WhatsApp story on Thursday “depicting what appeared to be a cruise ticket purchase.”
That day, he spoke to Belizaire, who told him she would be dropping the children off with their great-grandmother, police said.
But when he went to her apartment Saturday night, he saw the TV on through the blinds and heard the children talking inside, which led him to call 911, an arrest report states.
Both police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and forced entry into the residence.
There, “all four minor children were discovered inside ... without adult supervision and were hiding together in the bathroom,” police said.

I hope they revoke all of the social programs she is enrolled in - Sec 8, SNAP, Medicaid for the children, WIC. Those children will be better off either with other family or in foster care.
She can afford that nasty hair and nails and a cruise but not child care???? Animals do better.
How old was the oldest child? It’s not unheard of to have a 10 or 11 year old watching over their younger siblings, but I don’t know the details of this case.

This woman is clearly negligent and clearly its insane to leave a toddler and infant alone for days. But I wonder about the ages of the other two children. When I was 13, my parents left me alone for the weekend when they went on trips and no on thought it was wrong (myself included). The neighbors knew and checked in on me and I had plenty of food and money and knew what to do if something went wrong. I was responsible. And in older times, kids got left alone - sometimes for weeks - all the time. They had to grow up and be responsible fast. So while I’m not excusing what this woman did leaving a baby and a toddler alone, I do think society goes to far in not granting kids of a certain age autonomy.
In her defense, it was a cruise.
They keep saying all minors....but only give the ages of two of them. Let’;s hear the age of the other 2 children...16, 17?

I was wondering the same thing. I’m not excusing what the woman did, but in the old days, it would not be unheard of to leave young kids in the charge of a 16 year old for a couple days if they had food and money.
