Shocked judge scolds Florida mom of 4 for allegedly leaving kids home alone to take Bahamas cruise: ‘You cannot make this up!’

A Florida mother was arrested after allegedly leaving her four young children — including a 2-month-old infant and a 2-year-old — home alone as she took a three-night cruise to the Bahamas, visibly shocking the judge hearing the case.

“Who leaves four little kids alone to go on a cruise?” Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer incredulously asked Nathalie Belizaire, 29, as she appeared in court with her lawyer by video call Tuesday.

“The poor kids were home alone!” she exclaimed, Local 10 reports.

Belizaire was charged with four counts of child neglect after she flitted off for a three-night cruise on Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Conquest, leaving the children to fend for themselves in her North Miami Beach residence, according to an arrest affidavit.

Lether Bazile, the father of the 2-month-old, told cops Belizaire said she had planned to leave the kids with their great-grandmother. But when he stopped by her place Sept. 26 — a day after the ship set sail — he heard the chatter of kids’ voices and saw the TV on through the blinds.

He called police, who found the children hiding in the bathroom without an adult in sight. Their grandmother, Denise Wilkes, told officers Belizaire said she was going to drop the kids off but never arrived.

Well, she is 29, so unless she had her first child at 14 (entirely possible, admittedly), then they would be under 15, and I don’t think a 14-year old (or younger) should be home alone with infants for days at a time.

I watch arrest videos on Youtube. Some dood has to put up with all that. Very loud as well. Three-year-old level. I wouldn’t last very long.

Her oldest couldn’t have been more than 16, and that’s if she’d had her when she was 13, herself. You don’t leave a 2 month old with a 16 year old for more than a couple of hours. She needs to have those kids removed from her custody. Period.

Uh, someone who should never have been allowed to have kids in the first place?

I mean, why didn’t she leave them with one of their fathers? I’m guessing there’s at least three of them. Oh, but silly me, I’m assuming ANY of the fathers have anything to do with her or their kid(s).

It makes a huge difference. If the older kids were 16 or older, it might be OK for an afternoon, but there is no circumstance that I can conceive of a situation in which leaving a 2 month old at home alone with anyone but a responsible adult invested in the child's well-being would be OK,

Tell me why has the single motherhood rate in the black community gone from 20% to almost 80% in the same time that the civil rights movement has made such tremendous gains for black people? Is America more racist today than it was in the '60's and if it is tell me how did that happen?
